Red Alert Chili 4 lbs. Ground Beef 8 Cups Onions approx. 8 medium sized onions 6 Cups Green Peppers approx. 8 green peppers 8 Cloves Garlic 128 oz. Tomatoes 8 x 16oz cans or 9 x 14.5oz cans, etc. (diced, crushed or stewed in that order of preference) 128 oz. Dark Red Kidney Beans 8 x 16oz. cans 64 oz. Tomato Sauce 8 x 8oz. cans or 2 x 29oz. cans plus 1 x 8oz. can 16 teaspoons Chili Powder dried ground chili peppers 4 teaspoons Basil, dried crushed 4 teaspoons Parsley flakes, dried crushed fresh parsley works too 1 1/2 cups Red Peppers approx. 2 red peppers 4 teaspoons Salt 2 teaspoons Pepper 1 bunch Scallions Directions Chop onions and green peppers and red peppers and scallions (both the green and white parts) Mince the garlic cloves. Brown the beef, onions, green peppers, red peppers and garlic in a large kettle until the meat is brown. Drain off fat/oil. Drain liquid off of the kidney beans. Stir in undrained tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, scallions and parsley. Use both the white part of the scallions (green onions) and the green part (chives). If you prefer, the white part can be browned with the onions (above), though adding them at this stage will leave them a bit more crunchy. Bring to a boil. Reduce Heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Feeds 32 - 40 Klingon Krunchies 1 cup mixed nuts 1 cup pretzels 1 cup chow mien noodles 1-inch pieces 3 cups Corn Chex® cereal 3 cups Rice Chex® cereal 3 cups Wheat Chex® cereal 6 tablespoons margarine or butter* 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 3/4 teaspoons garlic powder 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Heat oven to 250°. Melt margarine in large roasting pan in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container. 12 cups snack. *Do not use spread or tub products Microwave Directions: Melt margarine in large microwavable bowl uncovered on High. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in remaining ingredients until evenly coated. Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool.
