| History of the Resolute |
| The Resolute was a unique ship from the very beginning. An older ship, but with many modifications. Some hidden surprises, too. It was a private vessel, owned by Kimara Cha'Sruan, and offered into special service for the Imperial Romulan Star Empire. Kimara wanted a special crew for her privateer vessel. She handpicked each one for their special and varied talents. Being a multi-raced crew only served to their advantage. They were able to blend in unnoticed in many situations, gathering information and goods for the RSE, only to slip out quietly. More than once they had to blast their way out, but always managed to lose their pursuers. After serving the Empire faithfully for some time, the Resolute was held responsible for an incident that embarrassed the RSE. Admiral Kimara was brought up for charges of actions against the Empire. Not appreciating her crew being used as scapegoats, Kimara escaped with them and sought sanctuary. After appealing to the Klingon Armada International, the Resolute’s crew was granted membership. Now called the IKV Resolute, they serve KAI with pride! Turning the Tables Resolute, being badly damaged in a battle with a Cardassian Warship, was adrift in Romulan space. While effecting repairs, a new Romulan Warbird D'Deridex Class, flagship of the Romulan Empire, found us and ordered our immediate surrender. Apparently, some young officer with a new command felt it would further his career to bring in our crew, who were wanted for crimes against the Empire. Admiral Kimara, of course, refused. We were in turn boarded and taken in tow. Security forces managed to fight off the boarding parties for several hours, but eventually the massive numbers defeated us. Kimara, Maec, our Chief Helmsman, and I eluded capture, and were hidden in the engineering department. After a survey of our status, we decided destruction of our vessel would be the only way to win. Then, Maec came up with an alternate plan. We used stolen access codes to Romulan patrol vessels, supplied by Maec to gain access to the Romulan vessel computer, ordering it to simulate a core breach. The computer was slaved to our access only, so the crew could not determine the validity of the breach. The Romulan Commander must have been nervous about the prototype vessel's safety, as he ordered the complete evacuation of the vessel. They evacuated, of course, to the Resolute. Our own crew had been left aboard the Romulan vessel, as well as some of the lower ranking Romulan vessel's crew, since there was no room aboard Resolute as it was. Maec activated the anesthazine gas aboard the Resolute, rendering all of our "guests" unconscious, and Kimara and I deactivated the core breach simulation and informed our crew to take control of the vessel. This was not a difficult task as those left behind found their own Commander were not worthy of loyalty, and joined forces with our crew. The crew did suffer several injuries, but only one casualty, Hatham. It should be noted that the crew performed excellently under extreme circumstances. The Resolute, unfortunately, was unable to be salvaged. A complete refit would have been in order according to Jentala, our Chief Engineer. However, that is now the problem of her new crew. I estimate the Resolute to now be adrift somewhere close to Telphus VI, along the Romulan/Klingon border. This new ship will be renamed Resolute, and will carry on the tradition of the one before, as befits the name. Change for the Better Times change, and the Valdore-class vessel was more trouble than it was worth. Dispensing with unnecessary crew, she put the ship up for auction. Sold to the highest bidder, Kimara then located another older Romulan Bird of Prey, reminiscent of the first Resolute. It has been modified to her exact specifications, far better than the original. Monies left over have been invested around the quadrant in lucrative ventures to benefit the crew. Not a group to sit idle, they are traveling about, taking jobs as they so choose. |
