Tavar Dukret Medical Officer Daughter of Nomat, when he learned that she wished to be a doctor he banished her to live with his sister, who also pursued a similar course in her life and was banished from the family. Nomat wanted only warrior children, not really understanding that a doctor is a warrior of another sort. She has 3 older brothers who she never sees and doesn't really know. Her mother died while giving birth to her. She learned about Klingon traditional healing early in her life and carried it through by studying traditional and surgical arts on Kronos. She then went to Vulcan for a year to learn about other species. Tavar actually likes learning about different species and approaches medicine in a Klingon way, preferring to use a traditional, natural approach when she is able to , thinking that the overuse of machines causes weakness. Her D'k'tagh is in a special sheath that sterilizes it after each use. The blade is kept razor sharp at all times either for use as a medical cutting instrument or for use as a bringer of death. A specialized medical tricorder hangs from her belt, as does a leather pouch containing several pockets and compartments which contain either pills made from specialized herbs or vials which fit in the hypospray that is also on her weapons belt. She carries no disruptor. Aidoann t’Vomak Asst. Medical Officer Kimara has been trained in Romulan anatomy and medicine, as well as many other races. Joined the Romulan Star Empire in order to support her inner feeling to help heal the sick. On top of being a healer, she appreciates the variety of other cultures, their different ways of life. Her father was a guard at a prison camp in the Carraya System, overseeing the prisoners from the Khitomer takeover. As a result she grew up around Klingons, and she began to understand their customs and lifestyle. As soon as she could walk she began to mimic their ways, and play along side them. By the age of 15 she was a master of their fighting style and took great pride in beating all the other Klingon children, both male and female at their own game. But she was unlike the other Klingons, for when someone got hurt, she felt as though she needed to help them, get them well again as fast as she could. Her excellent healing skills and expertise in Klingon ways and fighting style makes her a valuable member of the crew. |
