Like that class, they were designed for quick construction to replace the massive amounts of D'deridex class ships lost in the Dominion War. They were introduced sometime during 2378, and were first observed in battle by the crew of the Starship Enterprise-E in 2379, when two ships of the class fought the Reman warbird Scimitar alongside the Federation vessel. |
