Enrollment Information
~Telephone Interview~: I am extremely busy during childcare hours, and prefer to speak with potential clients in the evening.  If I receive a call during the day, I will most likely take your name and number and get back with you later in the evening.
I will try to answer all questions during the telephone interview.  Most parents are interested in
rates, hours, openings, and things of that nature.  I will ask general questions regarding your child's name, age, date of birth, and previous childcare arrangements.
During the telephone interview, we will arrange a meeting so that you will have a chance to meet me and view the environment where your child may be spending their days.  This meeting would take place on an evening during the week, or on the weekend.
INITIAL PROCEDURES
~Parent/Child Interview Session~: This meeting is where we will discuss the details of my program.  I will go over my Parent Handbook and answer any daycare-related questions that you may have.  At this time, parents will be given an Application for enrollment, along with references.
Please be prepared to wait, as I am not prepared to offer  the slot until all of my scheduled interviews have been completed.
If, for any reason, you are unable to attend your scheduled interview, please call to cancel or to re-schedule the appointment.  I will extend the same courtesy.  If an interview is canceled without prior notification, and it results in a no-show,  another interview session will not be granted
.
~Paperwork Pick-up~: After a parent has expressed interest in my program, and I have decided to offer a slot to them, a meeting will be arranged for the parent to pick up the remaining paperwork.  It is necessary at this time to fill out the Enrollment Form, and to submit the deposit and supply fee.  The space will not be considered "filled" until the required fees have been paid.
~First Day of Care~:The first day of care often proves difficult for both parent and child.  I ask that parents not delay their departure in order to make the transition easier.  The child is usually fine once the parent is no longer in sight.  Parents are welcome to call during the day to check on their little ones.
The first week's tuition is due upon drop-off time on the first day of care.  Cash, check, or money orders are acceptable forms of payment.  You will be supplied with a receipt at pick-up time.
~Enrollment Fees~: When a family is accepted into the program, a deposit equal to one week's tuition, plus the supply fee is immediately due.  The space will be reserved for a period of one week.  The first week of tuition is due on the first day of care, and each subsequent Friday morning.
~Probation Period~: There will be a three week trial period for every newly enrolled family.  This is required in order to further determine the suitability of the childcare arrangements.  If for any reason the parent or provider does not wish to continue the childcare arrangement, services can be terminated with a 48-hour notice.
After the probation period has ended, the
Childcare Agreement will go into effect, and a two-week written notice will be required for termination of care.

This page was created in order to make potential clients aware of our enrollment procedures.  It is my hope that after reading the information listed here, you will be able to make an informed decision regarding enrolling your child in our program.  I have tried to answer potential questions here, however, I may have overlooked a few.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ms. Melanie for clarification.  Take your time reading the information.  Enjoy your stay!
Maintaining Enrollment
~Parent Responsibilites~: It is necessary for parents to communicate openly and honestly with the provider, as well as to pay weekly tuition fees on time, observe drop-off and pick-up times (be one time), keep your child's medical records up-to-date, sign in/out each day, furnish required supplies as needed, keep sick children at home, and pick up your child in a timely manner when necessary.  Please see the Parent Handbook for further details.
~Required Forms~: The forms listed below must be completely filled out and returned to me before I will assume responsibility for caring for your child.  There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this guideline!  The completion of these forms helps to ensure that your child will receive the best possible care from me.  All forms must be updated annually (usually around Jan. 1), regardless of your child's enrollment date.  If you have any questions about these forms, please feel free to ask.

~Provider Responsibilites~: The provider is responsible for maintaining open communication, a safe and nurturing environment for the children in my care, a reliable service, and receipts for year-end tax information.  My goal is to provide each child in my care a warm, loving, safe, non-smoking home environment where each child can play and learn, and feel valued.  Children will be taught to show respect for themselves, others, and the environment.
I believe that both structured and unstructured activities are beneficial for children.  Structured activities include circle time, arts & crafts time, reading time, and music & movement.  Our non-structured activities include outdoor play time learning centers, and educationial television.  My most important priority is for the children to have FUN while learning!  If you have any questions, please feel free to
