The following pictures belong to a ceremony of "BATUKE". A Batuke is a "party" where the Orishás are invited to share with the spiritual comunity they protect and guide. It lasts several hours (at least five), the people sing and dance for the Orishás and this leads them to a trance state through which the Orishas manifest in their chanellers.Pictures of the Orishas cannot be taken, but if you break the rule you get nothing but a ruined film. So the pictures you will see are of the previous moments to the arrival of Orishás to the Earth. These ones are of the First Batuke of Ilé Axé Bomí in its own place at San Martín, Province of Buenos Aires in the Argentine Republic. |
