There was no zip in its ripples it barely moved

As if it were too tired to keep going

I sensed it speaking to me, expressing its distress

Clean enough for me to swim as a child

Now just a miry brownish stagnant body of water

They say it's contaminated from dumping of hospital waste

It's supposed to be illegal, but most rivers have this problem

Some, in higher population areas are worse they have more dumping than others

They put some flowers shrubs and benches to make the river area more attractive

Such a dichotomy, watching waste pass while sitting on a bench in a garden

I felt disgusted with our society that is so unwise about how to be nature friendly

DO THEY NOT KNOW RIVERS EMPTY INTO OCEANS!

Sad to think that our future will be one huge garbage dump if we don't stop it NOW!!!
