Fantasy in the Woods

The feathery patterns
of vaporous mist arise
out of the woodlands
like ghostly steam

Shafts of sun sporadically
kiss the flora and fauna
sparkle on a rippling stream

Dappled landscape plays host
to wildlife and wood sprites
colorful birds flitter and flutter
twixt shadow and light

I sit under a tree by the stream
enjoying a lovely daydream
as I pull petals from a daisy
"he loves me he loves me not"

I think of his touch that
sets me aquiver
when I hear his voice
oh how I shiver

His soulful eyes
arouse a fever in me
with just one kiss
I'm passion ready

Where are you my love
I yearn for you to appear
my heart belongs to you
for no other do I care

My dream becomes reality
coming to me in the mist
the only one I'll ever want
I welcome with a kiss

I close my eyes and hope
this daydream never ends
as the birds sing cheerily
my fantasies transcend
