Welcome to the home of the 114th Illinois Infantry.

We are a federal infantry unit based out of Texas, focusing on civil war reenactments in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, and national events all over the country. We come from all walks of life, all types of backgrounds, but come together for the love of history, and teaching the real life, the untold tragedies of the American Civil War soldier. We welcome recruits irregardless of race, creed, or ideals. All are welcome in our ranks. The 114th will also cooridinate with civilian activities providing fun for the whole family. Sign up below, and join us. We all look forward to seeing you round the fire.

Mission Statement

The purpose of this association is not only to experience the life of a federal soldier, but also to teach others the tragedies that this nation endured during the American civil war, not only on the battlefields, but on the home fronts as well. We have the military impression, but also coordinate with a civilian impression, to better understand, and educate what happened during that turbulent era.

There are strict authenticity guidelines in place to ensure we are the best unit to take the field. The men, NCOs, and officers in command are here to help and guide you, so please do not hesitate to ask questions. We all want to make sure that you enjoy this hobby as much as we do.

"Future generations will never know the seething Hell, and the black infernal background of this war, and it is best that they should not, the real war will never get in the books."--Walt Whitman
