His Second Home by Gen dela Cruz @ Chalk Magazine

His car says a lot about a guy's personality, so they say.

While having a couple of snapshots whith girlfriend Dianne, La Salle Green Archers' star player, BJ Manalo, didn't mind staff photog Mags raking through his maroon Ford F150 for a good shot of its interiors. Just shows how this 21-year-old Archer 'loves' his car. The guy is affectionate about his car that he sees to it that he has it tuned up every 7,000 km - since that's in the manual. He also has his car cleaned once a week, either at a car wash or by a househelp. We were surious if BJ was part o the my-ar-should-have-a-name trade; a quich "no" was what we got. You be the judge on how much this F150 is loved by its owner.

Motor home: BJ's vehicle can be compared to a motor home as he packs everything in it: basketballs, shoes, clothes, academic stuff for his Marketing Management degree, everything! People who usually ride with him are his teammates and girlfirend, but most of the time BJ drives alone. The car has also been part of one sad experience BJ can never forget that day when his best friend Migs Gozum had to be rushed to the hospital and they had put him at the back of his car.

The dirty work: "Dirty on the outside and messy in the inside." With a car described like that, how else can we expect this guy to try making his car look a little better? For one, BJ replaced the rearview mirror with a bigger one. He also tried to make it smell good, thanks to an air freshener. In his own way, BJ also tries to prime his car by making it appear neat-looking, cleaning it himself whenever he can.

Not car-obsessed: Surprisingly, though, BJ doesn't show much concern over little details like his mags, car stereo, steering wheel, and all those little fancies of a guy car-lover. It's obvious the guy is pretty much contented driving his vehicle without the snared of materialism.
