What I did today, Friday 14th September 2001
               (National Mourning Day)
Well, me and my Mum went to London today to lay down some flowers today at Grovesnor Square, where Roosevelts Memorial is. We had had to que up for about 45 minutes, we were going to sign the condolence book, too. When we got near to the front we had to put all out metal objects into a bag, and we had to go through metal detectors, too. But as I thought, I BLOODY BEEPED!! I had to have this other metal detector sprung over me... the reason why it went off was because I had studs on my jeans, an underwire bra strap, and an american badge on my top so basically all my bloody clothes put it off! Anyways, we enter the tent thing where we could write our thoughts in one of the books. I wrote:
To everyone who has died, to everyone who has survived, and to all the families.
Forever you will always be in my heart. Your light has not gone out, it will always be in ours it'll always be alight. I am now going to lay down some flowers. Each petal on every rose will be dedicated to all of you. I am now going to lay you down to rest.
                                                             All my Love
                                                                 Laura
Then i went to lay my flowers. It was remarkable how many flowers, american flags, teddies and even lightned candles that were there. As i place my flowers down, i just broke down. Everyone was crying. I've taken many pictures and I shall be scanning them onto here as soon as i get them back. I brought a top saying i love ny, it's white with short red sleaves, the love is a heart with the american flag on it. I also brought a cap with ny on it which i'm wearing now along with the top in respect as it's National Mourning day. On the way home, i was listening to my walkmen, and Everybody Hurts by REM came on, and in the middle of the song it had voice over footage of what has happened over the past few days. It made me cry a again.
