Elrond, Galadriel and Haldir

Elrond is one of the bearers of an elvish ring. He is very wise as he has been living since the second age and has seen the downfall of people and races due to the ring. It is him that initiates the council of elrond telling the Fellowship exactly what they have to do. He is aware of his daughters love of Aragorn but does not approve of it.
