William Frawely
He was the tight-wad. But in real life, he was more than just an essential part of the I Love Lucy gang. He was one of our greatest actors.

William was born February 26, 1887 in Burlington, Iowa. As a boy, Frawely never dreamt that he would go down in history as part of a zany foursome. Nor had he dreamt that by the time he bacame part of this famous foursome, he would've been in over 100 movies.

Frawely started out with Broadway. With this new idea of show buisness in mind, Frawely played in shows such as Bye, Bye Bonnie!,  Gingham Girl, and Here's Howe. It was in these shows that Frawely discovered his talent in acting.

Then one day he called up Lucille Ball and asked if he could audition for the part of Fred Mertz. Sure enough, Frawely was awarded the Part. Little did he know that this event would be marked in a history book some day.

On March 3rd, 1966, Frawely had a serious heart attack. He would not only be remembered as Fred Mertz, the tight-wad, but also as one heck of a guy!

We love you Fred!
