I praise God for His abiding love and the assurance that, "Because He Lives", I CAN face tomorrow and ALL that it brings.
MY CHRISTIAN WITNESS
I was raised in a good Christian home, where love abounded. I never lacked for any of the necessities of life. My parents showed much affection to one another and to my brothers and me. We were safe and secure and encouraged to do our best. Cursing, gossiping, or racial comments were never heard in our home.
Whenever problems arose, Mom and Daddy handled them with dignity and faith, serving as good examples for us.
Our home was filled with love and laughter. We were taught to take responsibility for our actions and to respect ourselves and others. I thank God for having had such a wonderful start in life!
When I was 34 and my life was in shambles, I realized there was a great void in my heart and life. I attended church regularly and was active in various activities there. In the 9 years I had been a member, I had never gone to a revival service. Revivals were held twice a year.
An evangelist named Bill Rudd was scheduled to lead a revival. I decided to see what all the excitement was about. I went to the first service. The message spoke right to my heart, and I knew what I had to do. When the altar call was given, I was on my knees asking Jesus to forgive me of all my sins and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. An indescribable peace came over me. I felt a joy I had never had before. I felt His presence in my heart.
HALLELUIAH!!
I want to tell you He did everything He promised to do and more. From then on, I was better able to face adversities. My life wasn't perfect, but I had an inner peace and joy unspeakable.
Little did I know that there would come a time when I would be challenged with chronic illness. Because He lives, I am able to deal with each symptom of Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. I have the knowledge that God will always be with me, and I will never have to face these things alone. He is my Rock and my Salvation. He is the Light of my life. Amen
You, too, can have the peace and joy I have. All you have to do is invite Jesus to come into your heart and repent of your sins. You will become a new person, saved and sanctified
.
That doesn't mean you will never sin again. He knows we are human and fall short of His Glory, but He will be there to help you resist temptation and forgive you when you fail.
It sounds so simple, so very easy, but you must be willing to surrender EVERYTHING in your life to Him. That is more difficult to do than you might think it is. We all have little secrets we try to hide from God, but He is all-seeing and all-knowing and will chastise you until you give it all to Him. Then, and only then, can you be the person He wants you to be.
