This letter came to me from both a Firefighter and a Gulf War veteran. He also has a request for everyone to help do there part in this time of need so please read his request as well.

Dear Bill,
First sir let me thank you for the great web site!! I am a volunteer firefighter & a Gulf War veteran, (I was in the submarine service..didn't see action ,we did escort a carrier group over to the gulf...we were gung ho ,ready to go,believe me). I want to state a few things about the status of our country . First, in the wake of this cowardly act on our soil many things moved me. How everyday people did heroic acts, trying to save others in the towers and the pentagon,or the people of flight 93 who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their countrymen on the ground. How our Nation came back to God Almighty for help in securing our Nation again. How our President through great thought & advise ,and also constant prayer to God acted how & when he did. How many blew the dust off their flags and they fly her proudly again, and now finally we are telling our children of why we fly her and how blessed we really are,and that the price for freedom comes at a great cost. When the firefighters who where exhausted & broken down emotionally & physically, where still in the state of mind to drape old Glory over the wall of the Pentagon and raise her at ground zero in New York. That picture of the firefighters at ground zero raising the flag immediately reminded me of the Marines raising her at Iwagima, which brings me to this conclusion. This may be a different time. This may be a different war, but it is the SAME AMERICAN SPIRIT!! My sister in law wrote a poem , and if someone where to ask me what is on the minds of our fighting forces in & around Afghanistan, it would be the last two lines of her poem " United we stand for freedom, and for freedom we will die"
Thank you Bill for giving me a chance to speak my piece,
God Bless you & yours & may he Bless America!
