Little Girl The 8-year old Juliet was watching her brother and his friends out of the window. Her brown her and green eyes popped up when she was trying to hear what the others were saying. Her 12-year old brother Thomas was looking really sad and his friends too, some of the girls were even crying. She didn’t like it when they were sad and she didn’t understand it, she thought that they would be happy. When her mom and dad told her that they were going to move to Manchester, away from Essex, she was in 7th heaven, she already saw her new pink bedroom and her new friends, she was sure that she was going to have a good time in Manchester. Juliet didn’t understand why her brother was yelling at their parents when they told him from the move, she was disappointed when he stormed off to his bedroom, she thought that he would like it too, she was angry at him, why did he always had to ruin the good things? She looked out of the window and saw Scott, one of Thomas friends, looking to her. She waved to him and he waved back, calling her to come over to them. She walked away of the window and closed the bedroom door behind her, before walking downstairs. Scott was her favorite of all her brother’s friends, he was the only one who had always time for her, and he would never ignore her. All the people in the garden turned to Juliet when she walked out of the house, but the most continued with what they were doing when they saw who she was. She walked to Thomas, Scott and a couple other people and she was really hurt when she saw their sad looks. “ Why are you all looking so sad?” She asked the question in a way only a child could do and although the others weren’t much older, they had to smile about it. “ Well, you see little girl, you and Thomas are going to live in another place for away from here and we don’t like that very much, we’re all sad because we can’t see you much anymore” “ Can’t you phone? You already phone with Thomas very much Scott!” Everybody laughed at that, Thomas and Scott were always together, they were best friends, and if they couldn’t see each other then they talked for hours over the phone. “ We can do that, but that wouldn’t be the same, we’re all going to miss Thomas, no matter what” Juliet’s face went down and she was on the edge of crying. “ You’re only going to miss Thomas? What about me?” “ Off course I’m going to miss you! You’ll always be my little girl, always…” 9 years later “ Jul, please keep your feet quiet, it’s annoying” She looked embarrassed to her friend Linda. “ Sorry, I’m just nervous” “ We all are, and we’re going to be more nervous if you don’t keep your feet quiet” “ Sorry again, I hope they are coming soon” “ Me too, I can’t believe that they have chosen us!” “ Same here… I mean, did you see all the girls who came for the audition?” “ Yeah, there must have been at least 1000 girls…I’ve never seen so many people on a audition” “ I don’t think that everyone came there for the audition, I mean… some of them had even signs with them calling ‘ I love 5ive’, they probably thought that 5ive was coming” “ Yeah, but still… Can you believe it? We’re the background dancers for 5ive!! Woohoo!!” Linda made a weird dance just on the moment that Tom, their choreographer, walked in. He made a strange face to her and Juliet and the other girls had to laugh about that. “ I’m sorry to disturb you Linda..” He had to pause for a moment because the others were giggling “but I come here to tell you that the boys can’t make it on time” He saw the girls disappointed looks and he felt sorry for them. “ They told me to tell you they were sorry, but with the busy schedule they have it’s hard to be always on time” The girls’ faces cleared up a little bit and Tom looked to the dance floor. “ I don’t know how late they are coming, but I’d rather don’t troy my time away by sitting here and wait for them, so what do you say about practicing the dances one more time without the boys?” All the girls agreed and a minute later ‘Let’s Dance’ was blasting out of the speakers. “ Music is my life and my life is music, let’s dance” The girls were practicing hard, they loved this song so much and they didn’t mind that they had to practice this song over and over again. They were dancing for about a half an hour when Juliet saw five people standing in the doorway. She looked at them, they must be 5ive. One of the boys looked her way, he looked familiar. He saw that she had seen them and he waved to her, Juliet smiled and waved back. The other girls and Tom looked strange at her before looking to who she was waving. The 5 boys walked into the room, straight towards Tom, when every one noticed them. “ Hey Tom!” A boy with an eyebrow piercing talked to Tom for a moment, his name was J if Juliet remembered right. Tom turned towards the girls, who were looking nervous to the boys and Tom smiled, he knew how strange it was to see your dancing partner for the first time, especially when you already practiced a lot without them. “ Let me introduce you to each other, J, Sean, Abs, Ritchie and Scott” He pointed the boys one by one and you could tell by his face that he was really proud of the boys. Juliet looked to the last boy, Scott. He was the one who looked familiar, but she still couldn’t remember were she knew him from. Tom turned to the girls and he pointed them again one by one. “ Boys, meet my new children..” Juliet smiled when he called them children, he called all his dance students children and that showed his love for them. “ Linda, Kelly, Juliet, Sandra and Rachelle, now, did I already told you who’s going to be your dancing partner?” Everyone nodded no and Tom troy his hands in the air. “ Great, how could I forget that? Well… I have a meeting in 10 minutes so I’m going to tell you who’s your dancing partner and I want that you and your dancing partner are going to know each other, I don’t wanna see anyone dance, I want every one to talk, I want everyone away from here and I don’t want to see groups from 4 or more people, everybody is going with his dancing partner, so I don’t want to see that some of you paired up, does everyone understand that?” He looked to the 10 people and he was happy to see that everyone nodded yes. “ Good, Sean, you and Linda are together, Ritchie, you take Rachelle, J is together with Kelly, Abs is going together with Sandra and Scott and Juliet will be together, now, if you excuse me, I have to go, bye bye children” Tom hurried out of the room and when he left it was completely silence in the room. Everyone was looking uncomfortable to each other, waiting for someone to say something, not wanting to be the first who spoke. Scott turned to Juliet and he was the first one to say something. “ What do you say about Tom’s advice? Shall we leave here to go to another place?” “ Sure, where do you want to go?” “ Well… I don’t know yet, what about going to my car?” She smiled and walked to the door. “ I’ve never been there before, I can’t wait to see that place” She heard Scott laughing and she looked surprised when he ran towards her. “ Let’s do a game, the last one who’s by my car has to pay a drink for the other one” She wanted to stop him, but he ran towards his car, not waiting for her to answer, she ran after him, surprised by his ‘game’ “ Scott, wait! It’s not far, you were leaving earlier!” He stopped for a moment to smile at her before running to the car. Juliet ran towards the car and she wasn’t surprised when she saw Scott standing there, grinning from ear to ear. “ What took you so long girl?” “ Funny, very funny, are you on steroids or something? I’ve never seen someone run that hard!” “ Well, what can I say? I’m tha man!” “ Yeah right, by the way, where are we going?” “ What do you say about driving around a little bit? We can see some places and talk at the same time” “ Great idea, at least, it is if you can drive” “ You have chosen the right man, you’ll be save in my car” They both sat down in the car and Scott drove away. They were still driving 2 hours later and Juliet still didn’t know were she knew him from. She wasn’t sure if she could ask him, they were getting along great and she didn’t want to ruin that by a stupid question. She looked surprised to him when he drove in a country road. “ Where are we going?” “ You’ll see, it’s one of my favorite places, I used to come her a lot when I was a child” “ Okay, is it far away from here?” “ Nah, only a couple of minutes” She looked out of the car to see where he was taking her, but she couldn’t see anything else then trees. He stopped the car a couple of minutes later for a huge lake and he walked out of the car. Juliet stayed in the car, speechless by the view of the lake, it was so absolutely amazing, it was the beautifies place she had ever seen. She looked strange to Scott when he walked to her side of the car and opened her door. “ Are you coming?” “ Where are we going? I thought this was your special place” “ No, not yet, we’ll be there in five minutes, but we only can get there if we walk, there is no way to drive with the car there!” “ Okay, you know, I’m really curious where you’re taking me” “ I figured that out already, but you’ll see the place in a couple of minutes” She walked after Scott, thinking about the place he wanted to show her. She almost bumped into Scott when he stopped right before a tree. “ Why are you stopping?” “ We’re here” She looked confused around her, she couldn’t see anything special about the place, the only thing she saw were trees. “ What’s so special about this place?” “ Have a look on what’s written on the tree in front of you” She did what he told her and she almost burst in tears, it suddenly hit her all.
