Darius Begged Parents For Another Crack At Stardom
Pop Idol hunk Darius BEGGED his parents to let him have another crack at stardom.

But well-heeled doctors Booth and Avril Danesh knew how devastated their son was at losing out on Popstars so for two months they refused to grant him permission to audition for the new show.

Although outspoken and cocky on TV, 6ft 2in Darius had never gone against his strict parents' wishes.  The 21 year old gave his word that he wouldn't try out for Pop Idol without their full blessing.

He was only given the last-gasp reprieve the night before his first audition in his home city of Glasgow in October.

Darius's Iranian-born father Booth, 55, is a respected consultant gastroenterologist at Glasgow's Stobhill Hospital.

Scottish mum Avril, 45, is a GP at a busy practice in Johnstone, near Paisley.

They both feared their son wouldn't be able to handle another crushing blow after failing to make it into the final line-up of Hear'Say in Popstars.
