Pop Idol finalist Darius will launch his solo career next month with his debut single Colourblind. He's hoping the song-written by guitarist pal Pete Glenister will follow his mates Will Young and Gareth Gates to the No.1 spot.
It was produced by his label boss at Mercury Records Steve Lilywhite (who has worked with U2). The track was mixed by Mark Stent the man behind Oasis.
"Darius wants to front his own live band to prove he's a real singer, not just some manufactured pop act," said my spy.
