Last week, when Rik Waller went down with a throat infection, Darius was told he might be back on the show. 'I got a call late last Thursday night asking me to come and rehearse,' he says. 'I couldn’t believe it. I was at University so I just had to drop everything and head straight down to London.'
This week Rik dramatically pulled out of the show and so Darius took his place. 'It’s all been very surreal,’ says the handsome Scot. 'It’s like a dream. I really thought it was all over for me.'
Saturday’s show was his first experience of singing live on TV so he was understandably nervous. 'By the time I got out there, I just enjoyed it and I think it went really well. When I heard I was going through to next week, it was just fantastic. I’m the happiest, luckiest boy in Britain!'
