| POP Idol loser Darius Danesh got a soaking at an outdoor gig yesterday. But it didn't dampen the 21-year-old Glaswegian's spirits as he promoted his new single, Colour Blind, in front of an audience of 20,000. Darius, who first shot to fame when he failed to be selected on TV's Popstars show, got drenched when a tarpaulin meant to protect him from storms collapsed, dropping gallons of water on his head. He jokingly told the audience at Southampton's Power in the Park: "I should be wet, because you're all wet." Then he grabbed hold of a bottle of water and threw it over his backing band so they could join the club, finishing by pouring the rest over his head. Fan Kate Simpson, 15, said: "Darius handled it really well. "It ruined his hairstyle but he just carried on like a true professional." Also on the bill were Pop Idol winner Will Young, Hear'Say, the band created by Popstars, and Liberty X, made up of runners-up from the show. Thankyou to the Daily Record for the story |
