Knit 4 rows (garter stitch)

Rows 5 & 6:  k4, *K2, p4, k4, p2; rep from* k4
Rows 7 &8: k4, *K3, p3; rep from* k4
Rows 9 &10:  k4, *K4, p2, k2, p4: rep from * k4
Rows 11 & 12: k4, *K5, p1, k1, p5: rep from *  k4
