Ramblings on the Night that is Sports

Boy, Am I sounding too much like "Theodorick of York"?!  ;^) I'm not competely sure on the accuracy of that, since I have no *idea* who the heck Theodorwhatever of York is! I am going to try my darndest to put my most thoughful, intelligent, witty thoughts on "screen" as I share my admiration and reflections on a show worthy of "classic" stature.
My format is kinda unique; I was so tickled that I actually came up with it! The following are my reviews and opinions on episodes placed in a "letter" to "Louise". They are writen as if I work at Sports Night, but I don't take on the personality of any of the characters. I wanted to remain as an objective, 3rd person point-of-view on the goings-on of the fictional Sports Night world. Any additional comments that I have that wouldn't make sense in this format I place at the bottom in brackets. Once I get enough thoughts down on a lot of episdoes, I will group them on different pages. But for now... enjoy! Tell me what you think! And remember to stay out of trouble! ;^)

"When Something Wicked This Way Comes"
Dear Louise,
The day started out just like any day here at Sports Night. Dana was walking around wearing leather, ready to ride a "hog" on her way to a bachelorette party. Dan was all a glow after being invited to a luncheon with the one and only Mrs. Hilary Rodham Clinton. Casey tried to beef up his "street cred" with us gals; assuring us that he will sweep Dana off her feet on their first date. Things we're off to a relatively good start. And then began the "Rumor", and I was the eleventh person to hear about it. Not bad. The Rumor's name turned out to be Sam Donovan. It spread rapidly, but all was still flowing at it's steady pace.
The first little bump in the road... Dana's "epihany", which turned out to be more of a slap in the head from her conscience from wearing the leather too long, I think.  She wants Casey to date other women for six months before they commit themselves to a true relationship. I understand her fears, and who knows... maybe she's smarter than all of us?! I just hope she's not letting something truly wonderful slip by, her and Casey deserve so much better. Won't it be interesting to see how this develops? I'll be sure to keep you updated with the ongoing saga that is Casey and Dana. The second nitch, well more of a humorous embarassment, in our day was poor Dan and his english mishap with the all knowing and beautiful Mrs. Clinton. She called him Dan... yeah, he was wearing a nametag. But we all gained some very interesting vocabulary lessons from the whole experience.
As the day wore on, I could tell the calm was just *too* calm. Our little "quiet time" was *too* quiet. And through the door walked the Rumor, and out went all speculation. "The times they are a changin'". Let's hope for the better, Louise. Stay out of trouble, pray that we do the same.
Sincerely,
Barb

"Cliff Gardner"
Dear Louise,
What kind of day has it been, you ask? Well... it was definately one to remember. You know, Louise, there are days that throw you off your center, give you a little light into the lessons you never thought you would learn. A man named Cliff Gardner made tubes, glass tubes. Always remember that. I know what you're thinking... "That makes no sense!" But it does. Just know that there are people out there that care enough to do whatever it is they can to help you, even if you think they know nothing about you. They know who they are and that's enough. Stay out of trouble, Louise, and don't hesitate to say those things that you would only say when no ones there. You never know who's listening.
Sincerely,
Barb

"Louise Revisited"
Dear Louise,
Well, I guess things here at Sports Night have gone for the wacky. Your brother has turned into some demented Godfather character, hell bent on revenge. Sam was quiet and complacent. Dana amused herself by taking her panties off while on a date with "Guilermo" from her high school Spanish class. Yes, that's right, I'm not kidding.... Sam was really, truly "complacent"! No, honestly, it was never easy explaining Dana, but now it would take a team of well qualified scientists.
Needless to say, with the giddy virus that was floating around (or maybe it was a giddy chip implant formulated to make us all swoon for Leonardo DiCaprio... or maybe it was just a virus),I fortuantely came into work with a lighthearted outlook this week; probably a forced reaction to the chaos that developed last week. I was optimistic, but things certainly have taken their turn for the odd. Not that I haven't seen these people become psychotic piles of neuroses, I've seen a healthy (or unhealthy) amount of that! Either way, it was nice to see everyone so chipper. Of course Casey is ready to jump off a cliff over the torture Dana is putting him through. But after tonight, I think his faith has been restored (at least momentarily). Let's just say he has something to "look forward" too! And so do I, since this place never gets boring, that's for sure.
The intimidation I feel from the Abominal Snowman himself, Mr. Donovan, has not decreased. There is this overhanging feeling that we are sorely mistaken, though, and all of my unoccupied senses have been working in overdrive to make sure I hang on to everything this man says... he may be a short, fearful little troll, but he's our key. Danny has been nice enough to reassure me that "there's more to Mr. I'll-Shove-A-Motherboard-Up-Your-Butt" and that he'll try his best to see past the snide, unfeeling remarks. Danny can see humanity in almost anything, and he sure knows how to make me laugh. A better man, you cannot find (besides of course Casey and your wonderful brother, Jeremy). If Rebecca doesn't come back to reek havok, I think I'll start puttin' on the charm. It doesn't hurt to try! Well that's all for this week, Louise. Take care and stay out of trouble.
Sincerely,
Barb

<Why on earth did they call it "Louise Revisited"? Can you explain this to me? Even though I love Jeremy and Nat, they weren't a large part of the episode. Maybe it needs a second viewing on my part.>
