Nozomi Astell is a 17-year-old human girl who was recently dethrowned from her position as princess of Pelosia. She has thick, fire-red hair that, along her her bright amber eyes, make it hard to miss her even in a crowd. Her tall, slender figure stands at 5'8". Her natural beauty is added to by the grooming and perfection she was given as a princess.

Nozomi is somewhat naive about the real Wyrld since she has lived in the palace her whole life. Her father, the king, thought it necessary to shelter her from true life, although she did occasionally escape his watchful eye because of her curious nature. As she grew up and learned the secrets of her home, her maids and servants found it even more difficult to keep track of her. She often ventured just beyond the palace confines, seeking freedom from her unfair confinement. In the city she met a few friends, most of either only used her to get links to the royal family. Because of this atmosphere when she was young, she has never really had any true, trust-worthy friends, which sometimes shows. However, Nozomi is usually very kind and understanding to others, and she tends to put everyone else before herself. She is also very emotional, often thinking with her heart instead of her mind, which sometimes gets her into trouble.

History:
Nozomi was born into the position of princess of Pelosia in the year 573 A.B. She was the king's first child, and therefore brought up with unmatchable care. Her life was easy, although boring, and her lessons on proper manners and ruling became second nature. In the year 581 A.B. Nozomi's younger sister Jaela was born. Although the two sister's bickered constantly, they were very fond of each other, especially since quality time with their parent's was scarce.

In 590 A.B. Nozomi was using her acquired skills of escaping maids and was lazing in the gardens when the palace was invaded by an unknown enemy and everyone except Nozomi was slaughtered. No bodies of the enemy were found. The princess, in a wreck, was discovered by a noble from Estovia and recovered what she could from the ruins. They then left for the city, and were directed to a run down house and taken in by a friend of the kings in hope of escaping Nozomi's death. They began finding suspects, and, with the help of an ex-assassin, began tracking down the killer and paving a path towards Nozomi's throne.

Possessions:
Because Nozomi only recently escaped the wrecked palace, her few possessions might have to be given up in her struggled to escape her father's murderer. The few things she does have are a few inexpensive leathers and her dead sister's silver flute, plus a pair of dice in a red silk pouch, a gift from a friend.
She also possesses a golden arabian mare that belongs to Artook. Nozomi named the horse Jaharas, a word that means 'sun streak' in the ancient tongue.
