Welcome To My World

With encouragement from my family and friends is probably one of the reasons I created this website, although I don't think they realize how much they inspired me yet!
I have five wonderful children ages 34 down to 19 years of age and five beautiful grandchildren.
A husband who has the patience of a saint. The same trait he uses while fishing..who stands by me in all the ventures I seem to take on, including learning computer technology in the wee hours of the night!

Why am I here?

I purchased my first computer in 1996, started using it so I could communicate with my college kids and family. I was communicating with my daughter in college who was attending school in Puerto Rico as an exchange student at the time. I found a christian chat room in GCN that we could visit in without all the obscene language. I started making friends in there while waiting for my daughter to arrive online.
I acquired so many chat room names that I thought I was going through an indentity crisis! We discussed creating homepages, so I thought I would give it a try! So there I was learning html codes and all sorts of new technology! I created Pleasure's of the Heart in 1997 and continue to this day.

Well.. the rest of the story....

I began my life

in the beautiful state of Minnesota. I met my husband (then boyfriend) in Minnesota and he hailed from South Dakota. After I got married we moved to South Dakota, then later moved to Colorado for about 10 years. Then arrived back with fishing pole in hand to South Dakota.

I can hardly believe

that time had passed so quickly. I was struggling through my adolesence, I'll call it the tweenager stage. Then highschool graduation came and went and I became airborne!

Little did I know

in those days of Simon Says, tag football, and climbing billboard signs that God had some plans for me! I always knew He had a great sense of humor!

As you might have guessed

I met the man who showed me that two people can become "airborne" together! I gave up my banking career and was now on my way to launching a new career "MOTHERHOOD!"

So God knew

that I shouldn't be alone for too long so he sent down the "flying five" three girls and two boys and from then on.."NORMAL" was only a setting on my clothes dryer!"

So by now

I've learned what noise really is! Being I was an only child, I led the quiet life you might say. My husband came from a great family of eleven other brothers and sisters. My life has never been the same, nor I want it to be...

I figured I have logged in over 100,000 hours cohabiting a home with these six people including my husband. I needed him for those big strong hands to open the ketchup bottle, who knows directions. .hmmm..(not one of my best qualities) Do I turn north or south by the grove of trees. Where are the signs? Well, at least I'm not afraid to ask for directions, if I can find someone to ask! But best of all I married my best friend!

Considering

the remote possibility that I might not receive world recognition and I haven't been asked to preside over influential meetings or invited to the White House.

I did find some recognition in being the CLUTTER CONTROL OFFICER, ACTIVITY DIRECTOR, PROBLEM SOLVER ACTIVIST and ANIMAL CONTROL COORDINATOR!

But I came to realize

that there might be sincere love in baking cookies, scrubbing floors, bandaging scraped knees, sitting up "preaching" to teenagers (as they saw it) and trying to mate the socks that were leading solitary lives!!

Then God

with His loving smile had seen that the years had been passing too quickly for us. God knew all these things, so to prevent my life from becoming pale and listness, He sent us five beautiful bouncing grandchildren!

I thought to myself

now I will love my grandchildren through many more drinks of water and more creepy crawler bugs to look at. Mother's can't be everywhere so that's why God created grandmothers right?

Maybe my life

has not resembled an ocean cruise, that shiny new limosine, but I've come to the place that offers so many rewards, seen and unseen I know..The older you get the more you come to realize what's really important in life. This must be what becoming wise means?

My family

has held up under rigorous testing conditions. We have all survived the "perks" in life and every hurdle we encounter only builds a little more character in ourselves. What don't kill ya, will only make you stronger!

And last

at the age of... well... I have no problem keeping busy with five children and five grandchildren. I have an avid outdoorsman for a husband who gave up asking "where's the other mate to my sock dear"... now I hear "Do you want to go fishing?". The socks are still leading solitary lives!

So the memories

of our years together as a family will be held close in our hearts, the many camping trips, singing silly songs in the car. Playing board games until we lost track of time, swimming, boating, picnics at the lake, ice fishing and all the fun things families do together. We still are making memories together..only with more people now! And to keep focused on being a christian family is the greatest gift we can share with each other.

So off we go

to create more memories... And those are the little things that keeps us a family 4life!
