Hello minna! Sorry it’s been so long, I’ve been writing a couple different stories,
although none are finished. I’ve been busy, I’m picky, and I haven’t been writing it in
chronological order, which basically means that this thing is probably going to go out all
at once, or at least in big chunks, and it’s going to take awhile to do. Plus, I’m having
trouble with the title. E-mail me if you like it or if you have a better suggestion. Now
that I’m writing stories, I understand how important e-mail can be, and just how much it’s
appreciated ^_^ !

This story is alternate reality - no mention of sailor business, but it does borrow from the
story line of the original a bit.

Disclaimer: Okay okay, we all know the drill. I’m but a poor and lonely student, so if
you sued me the best you could get off with is a couple packs of Trident gum and in the process you’d be
taking away my favorite hobby of writing SM fanfics, well, actually it’s my second
favorite hobby - the first is daydreaming about Mamo-chan. Sorry for the
randomness, but anyways, Sailor Moon doesn’t belong to me, it belongs to Naoko, Dic,
and a lot of other different companies that will probably never even hear about this little
story, let alone read it.
Oh yeah, I don’t own Trident either, it’s owned by Warner - Lambert Co. Hehe - I
got that off a pack I had in my pocket - I told you I was addicted to it! I bought all these
huge packs of the gum awhile back. . . what minna? Bored already? Okay, okay, I’ll get
to the story.

When he was five, Chiba Mamoru was reborn. No, he didn’t have some
miraculous religious conversion, or join a cult or something. At the age of five, Mamoru
was in a car accident, and it resulted in the loss of his parents and of his entire memory,
with the exception of his name. In this way, he lost his family. One could call this the
“death” of his previous life. Whether it was on account of destiny, or some internal force,
or something entirely different, the result was the same.

*~*~*~*~*~*

An exhausted Ikuko lay back on the mildly uncomfortable hospital bed. Her first
baby, a smiling, adorable little girl was lain in her arms for the first time ever. Her
husband, Kenji was looking on, with a broad smile gracing his face. she thought with a wry grin. She gave a little giggle of
the memory of the look on her husband’s face at the sight of the needle giving her an
epideral, and then the resulting faint after the first sight of blood

The doctors left her and a couple nurses entered her room, ready to bring her to
the room in which she would be staying. They were quietly gossiping among themselves.

“I feel so bad about that young boy!!! Both his parents died in the car crash, and
the doctors were barely able to save even him. Now they find out he has amnesia, so he
can’t help them track down any possible relatives or family friends. We should probably
be quiet though, I heard his room is on this floor. But I do hope he is adopted soon - it
would be terrible to grow up in an orphanage after all the trauma he has already been
through.”

“Oh, I know. It’s horrible the things we come across. Just the other day. . .”

Ikuko tuned out the depressing talk and instead focused on the miracle in front of
her. The tiny child began to make the most adorable face, her little nose wiggling up and
down like a cute little bunny rabbit.

*~*~*~*~*~*

Mamoru woke up to the now familiar hospital room. He could hear the laughing
of a newborn and the cooing response of a mother in the next room. He began to silently
cry at the thought of his own mother. The giggles of the child in the next room, however,
had the most peculiar effect on him. They relaxed him, and made him forget about his
own situation. At one point they stopped, and he froze his body in an attempt to continue
to pick up the sound of the happy child. Shortly they resumed, more quietly this time,
and their sound was like an odd, comforting lullaby to Mamoru’s ears, until he drifted off
into a more restful sleep.

It was the first of many times in his lifetime that Mamoru was drawn to this
person, the love of his life. Of course, he didn’t know until many years later that this
person was the love of his life, and in fact no one except the guardian of the gates of time
truly knows how many times these soulmates were drawn together without their own
realization.
