"Some days you're the dog; some days you're the hydrant" - Author Unknown |
Welcome to Imagine Labradors. I invite you to come in and meet the Labradors that have been, or are part of our lives. Morsel was our first Labrador. A chocolate beauty that we shall never forget. Maggie, our yellow girl, joined our family shortly after losing Morsel. Nessa, our newest addition, is our black girl and our first show prospect. Our involvement with the Labrador Retriever began with Morsel. She was the family pet, baby sitter, confidant, swimming buddy, and our best friend. With Maggie, my involvement stepped up a notch. Maggie and I enrolled in basic obedience class and Maggie graduated as an AKC Canine Good Citizen. What a proud day that was! Deciding to become more active in the breed, I joined the High Desert Labrador Retriever Club of Ca., Inc. and soon found myself on the Board of Directors. In early 1999, we volunteered as a foster family for Southern California Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc.. Besides fostering homeless Labradors, I also represent families interested in adopting, represent Labradors whose families find it necessary to rehome them, volunteer at adoption events, join charity dog walks, and generally assist the efforts of this group whenever I can. This has proven to be a very rewarding and fulfilling adventure. In September, 1999, I waited rather impatiently at the aiport for the arrival of little Nessa. We have so many hopes and dreams wrapped up in this girl. Nessa is living up to our expectations in both the conformation ring and as a loveable companion. I am new to the show ring and together, Nessa and I are having a blast learning the ropes and are enjoying some success as well. ** Update-Nessa earns her AKC Championship on June 24, 2002 ** Update-Nessa earns her International Championship in August, 2001. ** In July, 2001, we embarked on a new adventure, that of Junior Showmanship. Juniors offers children the opportunity to compete with others of their own age in various AKC events. In Junior Showmanship, they are judged on how they present their dog. Our ten year old daughter made her debut in the ring at a German Shorthaired Pointer Specialty Show. ** Update-Michelle wins her 2nd Best Junior Award on April 28, 2002 ** Michelle and Chet win their 6th BOS together on June 23, 2002. ** Back to back Best of Breeds on July 27 and 28, 2002 ** Open Junior Win July 27, 2002 ** Continuing to expand my horizons in the Labrador Community, I became a Board Member of Labrador Life Line in June, 2002. Labrador Life Line is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization created to help owners or rescuers of Labrador Retrievers who are in need of financial assistance. I am enjoying this new challenge in my life, and am in awe of the small group of volunteers who devote so much time and energy into helping Labradors in need. This site contains information on a wide range of Labrador and non-Labrador related subjects. You can find links on each of the dog's pages as well as on "My Favorite Links" page. Thank you for visiting Imagine Labradors. I hope you enjoy your stay. |
