B'rrol stood, preparing some meat for the ever-hungry Jinerath. The big blue dragon stood beside him, watching. B'rrol gave the meat to the sevenday-old dragon, who gobbled it down. B'rrol knew that very soon, Jinerath would become sleepy. B'rrol took a book, and sat onto a couch. Jinerath crawled up beside him, and place his nose on his lap.

What are you doing, Rider-mine? asked Jinerath. B'rrol smiled at his dragon. So curious. And so big...He had been big at the hatching, when he knocked B'rrol down. And he had been growing rapidly eversince.

"It's a book, Jinerath." The dragon blinked sleepily.

Oh. Will you read to me? And when I get older, you can teach me to read, and then I can read to you, okay? B'rrol smiled, and read dragon stories until Jinerath was fast asleep, comfortable and content. He smiled again, and stroked the dragon's eyeridge.
