Runion laughed as they walked down the hall. She yelled a hello to a group of JV hockey girls as they walked by. Everyone loved her. Even if she wasn't skinny....at all....that didn't seem to matter. She was loved! She laughed.

Yeah, so what if she wasnt a skinny little blonde girl? No, she was the opposite. Large....Big girl. She worked in the gym, and so she worked out. She wasn't fat...Well, some people might say she was. But most of it was muscle, really. She was strong. And she had plain brown hair. Long, wavy brown hair. The opposite of a skinny blonde girl. But that's okay. She was happy. And she was good with kids too. They loved her. She babysat for all the teachers in the school.

Anyway though. She was wlaking down the hallway with Jeanine and Boo. They were headed for the cafeteria- lunch time!

"So, Runion. What colleges have called you since we last talked to you?" asked Jeanine with a laugh.

"Well, Frostburg wants me. They're coming to watch our game tonight," asnwered Runion. Jeanine's eyes lit up. Frostburg had been interested in her too. Boo just shook her heads.

"You guys are gonna overload yourselves next year. Just play Club. That's what I'm gonna do. Don't forget, you DO have work to do," she teased. They slapped her in the back of her head, and they laughed.

Runion bounced towards the field. Well, as much of a bounce as she could manage with a ten ton goalie bag on her shoulder. The others were mostly already down on the field. Oh well.

She pulled on her pads, one by one, until she only had her helmet left. She hated the helmet...especially in this hot weather. Oh well. No biggie. She yanked it down on her head, and waddled her way to the goal.

"Okay girls, rapid fire!" called Bowling. This was Runion's favourite drill. The team lined up in a half-circle around the goal and one by one (but one after another) they shot at her. It was the quickest and easiest way to warm up the goalie. She stared at the first girl. THWAKC! She jumped. thud. She stopped the ball right bewteen her feet. And so it went. Only one got in- Jeanine's. Of course. They laughed, and sang, and danced to the warm-up tape that blared over the loudspeakers. The whistle from the Ref signalled Captains meeting...A minute later was stick check, and after a quick cheer, the game had begun...
