Noelani stood with Kigraith and the other riders from the Flurry. Her head was crowded with the others' thoughts, and she was distracted. There was a young man there, very nice looking. And over his head, she could see her own face. He was thinking of her? There were thoughts that flew through her head. They weren't from the riders. Something with the bonding process made it so she could not hear their thoughts. But the thoughts of the dragons, and of the small crowd of unbonded people who gathered to watch all raced through her mind. Kigraith stood beside her, watching curiously and slightly worried.
Rider mine, are you okay? she asked quietly. The thought was the loudest in Noelani's head. She nodded slightly, and turned her attention to the Weyrlingmaster. They were to fly today. That would be interesting.
Noelani and Kigraith treked back to the Weyr after the flying lessons that day. They were both drained of energy, but still very excited. It had been a wonderful experience.
When do you think we shall be able to go between, rider mine? asked Kigraith. Noelani shook her head, smiling.
"I really don't know, love. Sometime soon, perhaps."
