Ryslen Weyr

Shakaina looked intently at the ground below. Once again, they were above a Weyr covered in snow. She was delighted to see all the dragons flying about, most of the white or partially white to her curiosity. The dragon landed, and she shivered. It was colder here than at Keandyn Weyr, if that was possible. "Here" was called Ryslen Weyr, she was informed. Where Ice had come from. She smiled and scratched his eyeridge. And then she turned to Garen.

"What are we here for?" she asked. Garen smiled at her.

"Well, they're having a Winter Gather Flurry Flight thing. I thought it might be fun for you to come see the dragons." She smiled, but was a bit confused.

"Why?" He shrugged one shoulder.

"Just come on. Let's go walk." They went around, looking at all the dragons. She was curious about the white/partial white dragons. And there was a silver one that attracted her attention the most. She had heard of white dragons, but never seen one. But she had never heard of a silver dragon. This was something new.

She hadn't had a chance to really play in the snow yet, either. So she bent down, and scooped up a handful of snow. She packed it together, and just when Garen turned, she threw it at him. She laughed out loud as he wiped the snow from his face. But he didn't throw anything back. She was slightly disappointed. But she followed him like a loyal puppy dog. And she made a face at the simile. She was no puppy, nor was she any kind of dog. That was stupid for her to think. But she smiled anyway. Ryslen was beautiful, all covered in snow. She said hello to everyone she saw, and they waved and smiled back, for the most part. She said hello to one youngish woman who was standing beside a dark green dragon. The girl just sort of looked at Shakaina. Shakaina was looking at the dragon, who's nose was stuck up in the air like she got a whiff of something. The dragon was green at the top, and her colours sort of...changed to black.

"Wow," she whispered. And she looked back at the rider. She was staring intently at Shakaina...Or maybe it was around Shakaina... Either way, she made Shakaina nervous. And when she started to walk over, Shakaina became even more nervous.

"Hello," she said with a forced, shaky smile. The rider seemed to converse with the dragon, for her eyes stared out at nothing for a moment.

"Hello. My name is Minayea. This is Night Green Auspexeth." Ah, so the black-green colour had a name. Night Green.

"My name is Shakaina. Some people call me Ina, so you can too if you'd like." This woman wasn't bad. She was quite nice. Just her staring was sort of...strange. Suddenly it seemed as if the woman realized she was staring and looked away for a moment. Shakaina waited.

"Auspexeth and I are Searchriders here at Ryslen," she said. Auspexath was looking Shakaina up and down very intently. She almost missed what Minaeya had said.

"You're what...? Oh, Searchriders. Oh! Oh." Shakaina stuttered up and down as she tried to regain her composure. She looked at Auspexeth now, hopeful.

"Yeah, you'd make a wonderful candidate. You will be flying through the skie soon, Shakaina." This was the best news she had ever heard. Minaeya turned and walked away, Auspexeth trailing behind. Shakaina turned to tell Garen, and he was there with a smile on his face and arms wide open in a hug.
