Meow!
Cutie kitty
This is my kitty Isalu Xiaomao Luzhong a couple weeks after I found him...He was going to be a "Louisa" when I thought he was a female.  Isalu because he was "isolated" in a Chinese road or 'lu' which is Mandarin for road.  The rest of his name means "kitten in the middle of the road" in Mandarin.  I found Isalu one rainy night after Typhoon Nari which wiped out the subway system which meant I had to take the busses.  I had no clue about where I was supposed to go so I managed to get off way too early and hiked up two stops where I heard I kitten mewing.  There was a little white kitten in the bushes of the median of a busy street.  I tried to pick it up and move it somewhere safe and it tried to bite me.  That prompted me to let off a string of words and told the kitten "Fine, I don't care.  Stupid cat."  My bus finally came, but as I started towards it, I saw that the kitten had come down and was going to attempt crossing the street.  I watched it hoping that nothing would happen and, like a typical Taipei bus driver, the driver took off.  By the time the bus had passed from blocking the kitten from my vision it had climbed back in the bushes and began mewing to the point its voice was cracking.  I waited for the light to turn red so I could dash out in the street again.  I grabbed the kitten by the scruff of its neck before it could bite me and it wrapped its little tail around my arm.  That's when I began falling in love with it.  Then I carried it to a residential street and put it down.  By the time I got back to the bus stop it was coming around the corner mewing again.  Another bus came and left me.  I carried it down the street again and it jumped under a parked car before I finally took a bus home.  On the ride I thought of a name for the cat and was almost in tears because I realized it risked its life when it thought I was leaving it.  As soon as I got in I asked my roommate Anji if she'd care if I brought home a kitten.  She didn't so I caught the next bus (about an hour and a half had lapsed since I had left that stop), stopped off at a 7-11 to buy some milk, and began walking to the street that I left the cat.  I called out, "Isalu!" and I heard him mewing and he poked his head out from under the car.  That's how I knew he was my kitty.

I suspect that he's a lilac point lynx siamese, but I'm not quite sure.  He certainly has the temperment of a Siamese with climbing and being very talkative and he has blue eyes so it's possible.  He's been in Taiwan longer than I have!
