Every DOC band shape is different, depending on the severity of the child's plagiocephaly and where the flatness is located.
In Collin's case, the flatness is on his right side. The DOC Band has an opening on the right side (with velcro closure) which you see in the picture to the left.
The side-opening band was designed specifically to treat children with a significant amount of asymmetry, as in Collin's case. The side opening allows the corrective forces diagonally across the cranium (ie. from right forehead to left occiput.) Therefore, the opening will always be on the flat side.
