Help Me Keep the Birds Flying Free

"Flying_Free"

This kind of work is definately NOT for everyone, sometimes I think you either have to be dedicated or silly and as of yet I haven't decided which category I fall into.

Not only is it an extremely rewarding occupation but at times it can be very disheartening. There CAN and WILL be times that no matter how hard you try or what you do, some birds or animals will just up and die on you for NO apparent reason.

But on the other hand to have your charges released back into the wild and depending on the location have them return makes it all worth while. I am lucky enough to have bushland around where I live so most of my releases are done from home.

Since starting this job 3 years ago I still have a lot of my birds returning each day and now they are bringing their babies. The satisfaction in seeing a second generation of birds makes up for all the ones that didn't make it.

This webpage is designed to at least give you some idea of what it can be like and what you will need.

Please take note of the warnings on the feeding pages. More deaths are caused through ignorance than the actual injuries sustained by the birds. So PLEASE do some checking before you proceed.

Please feel free to email me if there is any additional information you would like.
