Reacts To Aaliyah's Death

In a world full of interchangeable young pop and R&B singers, Aaliyah stood out as someone special. There was a mystery to her, a poise and sophistication that was unique among her peers. Her career was still so much on the rise - for all that she had accomplished as a 22 year-old, her future was full of nothing but promise. There's no guessing how big a star the "Matrix" sequels alone would have made her. I was a huge fan of the "One in a Million" album, and "Are You that Somebody?" is quite simply a masterpiece - possibly the best R&B single of the late '90s, the pinnacle of Timbaland's production work and a perfect example of the right singer joining with the right producer for the exact right song.
