Just this side of Heaven there's a place called Rainbow Bridge....

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of water, food, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling to each other in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together....

Acer crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2004. He suffered from kidney failure. He was a sweet, sweet boy who liked to lounge around on the couch all day. I'm sure he's laying in the grass, watching the others dogs play, and napping in the warm sun. Acer is missed everyday...there isn't a time when the doorbell rings and I expect to hear his yappy bark and the clicking of his nails on the tile on his way to eat the intruder.
Gambit departed for the Rainbow Bridge in 2003. He had kidney failure that sent him into a seizure that he never came out of. I miss this little guy so much. I don't have anybody now who steals my panties and my socks. He is truly missed and I know he's having a ball romping around attacking everything in sight and then hopping away in his silly way. He was my little "Maggot" ;)
Max left for the Rainbow Bridge in 2003, he had a hard life for a turtle. He was born with a soft shell and the people who owned him before us didn't feed him the right nutrition. We tried everything we could, but he was just too weak. Max was a sweet turtle, he loved to held and he liked basking in the sunlight when we took him outside to play.
