THE HOCKING HILLS

The Hocking Hills are located in Southern Ohio in the Appalacian region. For me this is about a 3-4 hour drive and worth every minute. I usually try to make it down there at least once a year. There are beautiful waterfalls, gorges, and it is quieter than any place I can find around here. I especially like going canoeing on the Hocking River. The best canoe livery is the "Hocking Valley Canoe Livery." The best cabins are privately owned. The most breathtaking park...hard to say...they are all worth the trip- all of the parks are amazing.

CHICAGO

In my opinion- the most wonderful thing about Chicago is the museums. The worst- is the winter wind. We went in January and about froze our tails off. There were HUGE lines for all the museums and it was FREEZING. The good part- it was all worth it. More than anything I wanted to see the lions from the movie "The Ghost and the Darkness." They now reside in the Field Museum. We ate at "The Cheesecake Factory" and it was well worth the 1 hour wait. I would love to go back sometime- in the Summer.

LAS VEGAS AND THE GRAND CANYON

I couldn't possibly fit everything in this small box about this trip. Las Vegas was everything everyone said it was and more. It was amazing. I especially liked all the PRIME RIB and the Fremont Street area. We took a day trip to Hoover Dam and The Grand Canyon while we were out there- and again- words just cannot describe it. All I can say is it all was wonderful. I don't know how long it will be- but I would love to go back someday.
