Legion vs Gigan
Chapter 4
The sand was moist from condensing water in the air.  The machines still hummed with the rhythmic music of work.  The mining machines drilled and extracted ore for thier masters.  The small, insectoid Nebulans truely were the rulers of this desolate, rocky moon.  Soon, however, their dominance would be challenged.......

The mighty Legion was burrowing underground, moving closer to their prize.  They had built a grand labyrinth of tunnels under the slag that blanketed the soil.  The seeds of their majestic, gigantic plants were dormant...

Meanwhile in the Nebulan mining facility, the oversized roaches watched their stations.  One was telling crude jokes, one reveled in the amount of alcohol he consumed, and two others remembered their days in the Nebulan Imperial Army.  They did not know their lives were almost at their end.
The machines continued to extract, clean, and process the silvery, metalic ore.  They did their jobs as the exo-skeletoned harbringers of death moved toward them.

The soil burst and the Legion swarm began its violent assault.  Some took to the air and some stayed in their own phalanx-like battle positions.  The ore and machinery were tasty morsels to the great and powerful swarm.  The drones saw them as easy targets to harvest food from.

The workers were alarmed when they saw the swarm.  Thier blood chilled.  Thier bodies weak in sheer fear.  They knew they were doomed.

The swarm descended upon the metal cylinders that mined the ore.  The enzyme the drones secreted, melted the outer layers of metal on the machines.  The machines malfunction and the conveyor belts ceased their movements.  The swarm had begun their feeding..........

Chapter 5
Gigan sat in his holding pen in suspended animation.  As he "slept" information would be fed
into his head.    He was recieving information on what he would have to be deployed to deal with a threat.  In his mind, he wondered what this threat could be.  Images flooded his mind with the forms of the forms of Legion soliders and their great Queen.

Gigan's mind interpretted these images as the beings who infested his world.  Before the Nebulans, before his cyborg rebirth, and before his departure from his world; there was a time when he lived without care or anger on the fifth planet from a large, red star in a binary system.  The gas giants that were sixth and eighth in the system drew comets and other space debris away from that small world.  Yet, one asteroid escaped and it crashed into the not-as-of-yet Gigan.

The vessel that contained death, greed, and sorrow crashed into the planet.  Soon the Legion, in its greed, began its quest for control and dominance.  In time equal to eight Earth months, the swarm almost controlled and manipulated all of the planet.   f not for the Nebulans' sudden arrival, Gigan would be dead.

But, life did come at a price, he had been transformed and enslaved.  Yet, he did not truly mind.  He enjoyed the great power he gained.  He would use this power to enact revenge!!!

He sat in his holding pen, slowing waking up.  He remembered the Queen's plasma beam striking his body and filling his form with never-ending pain.  He felt again the soldier drones' ciscious biting.  Revenge was in his grasp and he would not let it elude him.  His eye visor glew with rage and anticipation...

He rose and gave a cry of hatred that echoed across for miles.  The door of the pen opened and the creature of vengeance moved forth.  This time it wasn't because of the orders, it was of revenge!  Revenge for himself,  his freedom, his kind, and most importantly his world.
Chapter 6
The swarm, even though it digested silicon, silicon-based, or silicon-containing  substances; they would occainsonally feed on other minerals or metals.  The Legion on this sphere were not extremely picky either.  They began to eat sand, the ore, and just a multitude of inorganic matter. They were on a hunger-driven rapage of madness produced by their urgue to eat, establish a colony, and the electrical impulses created by the Nebulan machines.  Thier microwave teleptahy was getting grabled by all these interferances, and the Queen would not allow this.  The annoyances must be removed........

Meanwhile...

In almost-near-orbit, Gigan was almost at the position that he was scheduled to arrive at.  His rage told him to destroy, and soon.  If not, his anger would consume him.  Even though he possessed sub-sentient intelligence,
he knew what emotions and such were.  He knew what Legion was, and what it was capable of.  The mighty kaiju was readied........

The Nebulan satelites flew over the silent, rotating sphere.  The machines digitally mapped this rocky chunk of space debris-turned-moon.  They scanned it, and then in an instant they detected a bizzare flying formation of objects.  The smaller objects merging into one gigantic one.  The drones were going into the protective compartment into the Queen's opened abdomen.  The satelites had pinpointed the swarm's position and signaled the information into Gigan's brain.

Gigan recieved the signal.  In his head,  cackle of malicious glee echoed when he knew he could now slay his enemy.  His one, cyclopsian eye glew with half-rage and half-excitement.

Back on the surface....

The great swarm of the Legion continued its path toward its target.  Yet, all of the drones were placed inside their Queen's abdomen.  The Queen telepathically commanded her children.  She commanded with her great thrawl upon them.  She had one thought, "
Victory".
Chapter 7
The stage was set.   Soon the battle would begin....

The swarm began to arrive at an area where electrical power stations lay.  The drones were released and sent to the plant.  In an instant the power was cut and the energy disipated.

The confused drones, through their hive-mind, told the Queen.  the Queen approached wondering  waht was occuring and then a speeding object was sighted.  With a sense of what might be coming, the Queen released a cry of defiance to its challenger.

Gigan was at full speed, heading directly towards his target.  Anger fueled him, and would make him fight like he never had before.  He heard the cry from the Queen, and knew he must win.  He knew he must battle his enemy and destroy it, not for just his masters, but for his own unquenchable thirst for revenge.

The Queen's mighty horn opened and a bright beam of blue plasma shot forth from it.  Gigan, still in mid-air,
dodged it as the beam traveled harmlessly past him.   The Queen, shocked, fired another beam, yet Gigan dodged it, but not entirely.  Gigan's left wing, of his trio of wings, was scorched.  He landed and the ground quaked underneath his girth.

Gigan had his eye transfixed on the insectoid horror before him.  He flew at her and struck her with one of his sickle-like claws.  It scraped the Queen's exoskeleton, then the Queen struck Gigan with his horn.  The drones flew then at Gigan, he countered with his forehead laser and his scythes.  The drones were blasted, cut, and dismembered.   Yet, they still clammered onto him and started chewing and biting  while Gigan wailed in pain.  The Legion Queen reveled in this, but the drones removed themselves from Gigan.   The drones knew they needed to aid the Queen, so the departed from the battlefield, while the Queen sat there.

Gigan had bloody bite marks all over his form.  Green blood trickled from these wounds, but he would not give up.  He hurled himself at the Queen and struck his claw against her face, cracking her carapace.  The Legion cried in pain while the pain racked her body.  This was because, not only had he struck her on her face, but severed one of her legs.  Air streamed out of the leg, and in an anger that matched only Gigan's the Queen's horn opened and a great beam struck Gigan point-blank in the chest.

Gigan's body was sent flying a mile away before crashing into the side of a large rock formation.  The rock fractured and broke under his weight.  The rocks fell upon him, burying his body underneath the rubble.  The wounded Queen retreated, her body needed to heal and this battle and weakened her.  With a great strike of her horn, the horn broke and she began her descent.
