Naturalist Intelligence

RECENTLY added to the original list of seven Multiple Intelligences is Naturalist Intelligence. Naturalist Intelligence is a person's ability and expertise in identifying and classifying patterns in nature. Individuals with this intelligence also have an increased sensitivity to natural phenomena such as cloud formations, weather conditions, oceanography, space and other forces of nature. Naturalist Intelligence is seen in the way people relate to and enjoy their surroundings. People who love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking and exploring and learning about the earth and space are exhibiting Naturalist Intelligence. Well known individuals with this intelligence are Charles Darwin, Pierre Cousteau and Jane Goodall.
