1.Sri sankara jayendra balavihar is organised by kanchimutt to give children in the age group 6 to 14 to get together for one hour every week
2.The balavihar programmes are designed to give the children a basic knowledge about our glorious culture and also to instill discipline in their daily routine and devotion to their School career.
3.Children are taught to chant some of the well known Sanskrit poems like Bhagaved geeta,Adisankara's stotrams, Daily routine slokas and Tamil poems like neethi noolgal (thirukkural.abhiramianthathi,thiruppavai,thiruvembavai) etc.. not so much to make them understand the meaning of the verses, but to create a basic interest in our Scriptures and the great sanskrit language, so that when they grow up into responsible men and women a detailed study of the same verses will afford them the mental strength and fortitude to face the vicissitudes of life boldly.
4.Regular and punctual attendance at Balavihar is compulsory.If your child is not able to attend the session any one week please send a letter showing the reason for the absence the next time the child attends the Balavihar.
5.While punctual attendance is necessary, children are also advised not leave their houses earlier than is necessary and also to return to their homes direct as soon as the session is over. Please make sure that they follow these instructions.
6.The responsibility for safety escorting the children to and from the session centres rests with children.
7.Unless they are accompanied by an adult member ,children below the age of six should not be sent to Balavihar sessions as they will naturally be too restless to sit through the programme and thus distraction to other children.
8.The balavihar seeks your co-operation in giving all possible assistance to make the Balavihar scheme a good success .
