Day #1 of Saturday July 21, 2007

I can not believe how quickly it got here in 2007 but it is my favorite time of year as I will try to be at Deep River Waterpark a whole lot during the next 12 days as it is time to . I arrived at the park at 10:03 and the temperture was 73 degrees. I began the day by going over to the storm and it looked as if I would be putting up the big 0 for days so far that the rides had been open as there was a chair and a big very nice sign on before the cyclone that indicated the attraction was closed. I started by climbing up the stairs of the vortex and then I went on the abyss and the slide attendant there who had not gotten a Harry Potter book wanted to know if I had. I have never read a Harry Potter Book and I have never seen a Harry Potter movie. My best understanding is this is someone in a world of make believe but has some sort of special powers. When I come to the waterpark I call it the world of make believe because I try to leave all my problems at the front gate and just have a good time and see where the storyline takes me. Apparently, you could have gotten this Harry Potter book at midnight. I don't think I could be awake at midnight as I like to go to bed around 9 p.m. except on Tuesday night's in the summer. I was howevever unable to get to bed until 11:30 p.m last night since I was at a Gary Railcats game on Friday night. I asked the slide attendant lets call her Erin I think that might be her name if the cyclone was open and she said it was. There was a slide attendant in place and the water was running. I don't know his name but if I ever learn it he will have the best voice. It is so great to hear him talk.

Obviously this sign was lying to me but I hopped over the chair and the sign and on my favorite storm ride of them all I went. Next I once again hopped over the chair and the sign I had more company this time but it isn't the easiest thing for me to do at least this was a very low chair. I let the slide attendant know I once again had to hop over this chair and sign. He said I could just move it out of the way. I can't be stealing other people's jobs remember the only time I have ever been thrown out of the park it was for helping a lifeguard named Sarah stack tubes at the tube shack near whitewater. I did ask the attendant at the cage if he could call or get someone to move the sign and chair and he said that he would and he must have because the next time I went on the cyclone it was no longer blocked and everyone was very happy about that. My adventure led me back to the abyss and today even though it hasn't been available for a very long time I would choose not to do "The Classic" because the line to the vortex was to long and today the park was filling up rather quickly. I stuck to mainly the abyss but got the cyclone in there as well. The stair count went to 640 and then I went to the dragon.

At the top of the dragon was Suzy but how could I recognize her without that cast. Apparently she had just gotten it off and was not used to having two hands but at least now she could do her hair. I rode the curved slide of the dragon once and then I took "The Hike" and setting up on "The Hike" was something that involved spinning a wheel which cost a dollar and then depending on what number you landed on you would win a beanie baby and everytime you spun you won but there was no trading. I did not see anyone play the game but the people running it seemed to be a happy group. I carried on and went on the red bowl slide and the count went to 808 and on the West Side my stay was very brief slide wise just one but very long because the line had already built up to the second stair case and this was a very slow moving line partly because of the slide and partly because how the line was being organized. I think there are 2 sides to the loading pool for a reason but that is just one person's opinion.

I took "The Hike" back and on the way just walking around I think they call that Paddles Roamer was Caitlin and she pointed to her sunglasses which were very nice and they were not big and white so I like that. I thought her hair looked different perhaps darker and I wondered about this as I once again passed the Beanie Wheel and now setting up was another tent this one said for the Mix 101.9 FM. I got to the storm and rode the abyss 3x in a row putting the stair count at an even 1,000 so once again I win the game. Caitlin did come to the cage and I had to ask if her hair was darker it was indeed and it really looked good. I like that so I told her it looked wonderful.

It seems that I don't know the last time I wasn't on the go so I was actually tired today so I did the easiest thing of them all it was "River to River" I started off at the Lazy River boy interesting memories came with the floating around there. The landscaping sure wasn't like it was back in the day. The age of this river and it's surroundings seem to show but usually every chair even the one that is no longer there brought back some memory. I seldom ride in the lazy river any more but every once in a while it is good to float down memory lane. Today the patrons were rather rowdy in this but there are a lot of blind spots in this particular river. I then took "The Hike" and went around the Action river. I got caught in the secon current so I ended up near the island and there was Courtney who hadn't seen me in a long time and I think it was Tuesday and that really isn't that long but she said it was to long. She did not get a tootsie pop on Tuesday because I only saw her briefly and apparently she likes chocolate. I can't get ride of chocolate. I try to get the least chocolate possible but at least one for the "Sensational Sasha" and Courtney told me she will take all the chocolate ones and I should come up with an adjective for her. I don't know that the storyline works that way if someone could request and adjective and get one but will see. Courtney is short and petitie and 18 so maybe I could like her plus she is blonde and somehow the story goes I like blondes. I think that I have confirmed that about Justin. Actually, I am partial to redheads but don't find to many of them around. If you looked at all the gals with adjectives they don't all have blonde hair.

I went around the action river once more hoping to summon some energy up but it did not seem to be forthcoming. In fact some how I got sucked into where the buckets are but then I did not progress very far just kind of stuck and I had to try to paddle through the buckets and after that I really didn't move anywhere at all and when I tried to move I went backwards. Courtney said I just wanted to see her. I certainly did not mind the view. I did find out she did not see the movie Hairspray and she is going to see the movie Chuck and Larry and if I bring a measuring tape she would let me measure her to see that she is indeed 5 feet tall as I feel if you are short you are going to round up to five feet. Courtney would not pull me out of being stuck she said I just had to work my muscles to get out of this. I have very little arm strength all my power is in my legs so I tried and tried and usually ended up further back than I started. I expended a lot of energy before finally getting a little girl to push me out of this. Courtney said maybe Jake would pull me out as he approached and I asked him if he would have and he said he would. I have had other lifeguards I don't even know pull me out of this.

I took "The HIke" and stopped at a line for the mix 101.9 and they had 2 games throw some beanbags into a hole if you get 2 out of 3 you win any prize on the table or you could spin a wheel that had 3 that said you win. One of the You win was for Simpson's movie passes. The Simpson movie opens on Friday July 27 I am going to see that I think sometime on Friday July 27 that already is a very busy day as I will be at the waterpark sometime, I have a dentist appointment at 11:45 which I still can't believe the time. The Scherrerville Corn Roast is from 4 to 8 p.m. and the Simpsons movie. Courtney is off Friday but maybe she will come to the park on Friday. Do you believe she said I could play a game to find her on Tuesday night? I already play a game called "Where's Emily?" where I search for Emily although that game is currently on hiatus since Emily is on vacation. It is a little harder this year since only have one Emily last year there were a few.

I chose to spin the wheel because it looked easier. I did not win but got a consolation prize which is a lip balm that says 101.9 the mix on it like a chapstick. It is a lemon flavor at least it is something I could use. I made it to the storm and I showed Erin this prize I had won and then down the abyss I would go and when I got to the end there were no single tubes left in the cage but several double tubes that was strange I thought that was a good place to stop for "The LAST RIDE" The stair count was 1,064 making 62,414 climbed this season at Deep River Waterpark. Later in the night I would climb more stairs as with my church I took my nephews to the Munster Community pool and they had a body slide which I went on twice and then this slide that even made me a little nervous that was above like 12 feet of water and enclosed and you drop down and for part of it you are not on the slide but just in the air. I was on that 3 times as my nephew watched and made me nervous since he can't swim in 12 feet of water but both the nephews had a good time there.

I left Deep River Waterpark at 12:48 p.m. it was 75 degrees and the crowd was rather large. Remember it is now time to so come on out to Deep River Waterpark today it is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily and summer is flying by so you don't want to miss this. I'll see you there.

Day #2 of Sunday, July 22, 2007

July is finally starting to be good to me. I returned to Deep River Waterpark at 10:03 a.m. The temperature was 75 degrees. I was pleased to see that no motors had burned up and all 3 storm slides were fully operational and remember on the next Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooosday when I need to play that game to find Courtney? Well today I practiced the game and I found her very quickly at the bottome of the cyclone. Remember last week when they had 2 slide attendants but just one slide. Today they had one slide attendant and I am not sure where this other guy came from but he sure did a great job and he would be up there for awhile on the cyclone and the abyss. I would be raising my hand oh oh please let me be a slide attendant today I can push these people down the storm too and it is in shade so that would be good for me. I actually have a swimsuit with me. I don't think this guy did as he had no idea this is what he was going to do when he came to work today.

It has been awhile since we have seen "The Classic" which is vortex, abyss, cyclone, cyclone, abyss, vortex, vortex, abyss, cyclone and cyclone or 10 slides 640 stairs but today I was able to do that and then I could pick the slide and most times I picked the cyclone because that is my favorite storm ride. I kept going long enough to see 3 different lifeguards sit in the cyclone chair. In all I rode the storm 18x in a row making the stair count 1,152 for the day and this is the fun I like to have with all the slides open. I then snuck over to my favorite ride of them all whitewater and I got up 2 stairs so the line was not so bad and up I went and there was Sammy see how I follow her everywhere. Today she was happy so that was good.

Next, I went around the Lazy River at the entrance was somewhat of a mob and this is where Courtney had gone and she was going to get all these people to get some order in this. I missed her as she abandoned me to come over here. Apparently this was not her favorite spot. She was still short. The entrance did get somewhat organized and around the river I floated and I saw Jessica and she looked so out of place because this is not the wavepool and the chair she sat in was not the wavepool river chair. Apparently today she was a rotater so that is why she was at this chair. I took one spin around the river and then it must have been lunch time because I could see the abyss and the cyclone had opened up for me so over there I went.

I get in one of those things where I can't stop. I just wanted to make things even again so I needed to end witha 6 that would mean just 5 times I would go on the storm but that was 1,516 and the lines were short especially on the stair climbers best friend the abyss and Mike was there and he was fun and how about those girls that kept coming back to see him? You should have seen their faces light up when he came up the stairs to run the abyss. He seemed that he was goingto be there awhile. 5 rides became 10 and the stair count was 1,836 and that is so close to 2,000 so I continued on for 5 more rides. The stair count went to 2,156 and the abyss today would be where I spent most of my time and it would be "The Last Ride"

The stair count moves to 64,570 for the summer leaving 45,430 left to climb to reach the 110,000 stair goal. I left the park at 1:23 it was 81 degrees and quite a crowd was on hand. Hopefully, all will go well and as we continue I will be able to make it to the park tomorrow hopefully around 4 p.m. You however don't have to wait that long because the park is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and don't forget were only a couple days away from Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooosday #7 of 10 so time is running out on these. You can get in the park for only $9.95 after 5 p.m. which was the cost of admission when the park opened in the summer of 1995. You don't have to wait that long as you can stay longer for free because for just 4 more weeks on Tuesdays only Deep River Watepark will be open from 10 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. so come on out. I'll see you there.

Day #3 of Monday July 23, 2007

Monday's have proven a very tough day for me to get to Deep River Waterpark but I did make it for the second week in a row. It was 4:08 and 85 degrees when I arrived. I began the day at the curved slide of the dragon as sometimes the dragon is a very good place to start to see what energy one has to expend for the remainder of the day. I just went down the dragon once and then I went to the storm and if you know me quick what is Mark T's theme song? It's by Billy Joel it and it is titled "You May Be Right" and in that song there is a line that goes. "So you said that only proves I'm insane" and insanity had apparently come to the top of the storm and that would lead to another line in my theme song "I was only having fun. Wasn't hurting Anyone." Apparently, the slide attendants were in a rather good mood this afternoon so that was fun to see. I climbed on the abyss 4x and the stair count went to 350.

Next, I took a calculated risk as I could see that whitewater was calling to me with virtually no line and there sitting in that high chair oh where is my camera when I need it this was the perfect photo op and I was unprepared we could have gotten another competitior for your 2007 Lifeguard of the Year in a photo and I am the master of "The Chair Shot" That't right she's back after 10 long days away and under my breath you could hear me should YES. It was Emily. Apparently, today was her day off so she just came in and they said do you want to be a slide attendant and she said yes and here she was on a Monday. This high chair is a new chair she enjoyed sitting in it. Oh how I wanted a picture of that.

I rode whitewater 2x as there are not many stairs a mere 44 and time would be working against me. Can I remember that slide attendant's name hmm uh I would need a hint but normally I see her on Tuesday nights only and last week I climbed Paddles play area just to bring her a tootsie pop. Apparently she just does not work on Tuesday night like I led myself to believe. Next, I returned to the dragon and sometimes I can not stop myself. After I rode the curved slide 2x along came Lindsey I and she said Hi and said I did not just say hi to her I try not to initiate any conversations but I will talk when you say something it has proven safer for me. She has already put in her request for a cherry tootsie pop tomorrow for Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooooooosday. It will be #7 of the season and there are only 10 all year so you don't want to miss this. I did explain blue are all for Joe Parker and then we got involved in a bit because only Lindsey IV would get blue because she claimed to be #1 not to be confused with the name Lindsey I and orange those go to Emily because she knows how to play my favorite game "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" and at least one chocolate is for the Sensational Sasha should I ever actually see her on a Tuesday night or even Wednesday I did see her at the gate when I entered tonight but it wasn't Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooosday.

I was told Courtney will take all chocolate remaining and I am going to measure her as she said I could but first I have to find the tape measure. That ruler that Justin was holding last week won't work I know she is short but not that short. Lindsey I alleged that she saw "The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie" and you too can see her if you read the 2007 BLAST (Best Lifeguard and Slide Attendant Things) which is now under construction. She told her I said hi and then Lindsey I was very nice and said Stephanie said Hi but how can that be? It was nice to think though and it made me extremely happy to believe this.

Since Lindsey I was available that meant that I could ride the steep slide with "The Full Effect" however the first time I rode the slide it had been so long it was a little to soon and I got bit. I did go on the curved slide some more before returning to the steep slide and this time "The Full Effect" worked to perfection and there was no pain in my back. I did "The SHOW" and after time #10 Lindsey I asked if I would go on one more slide just for her and how could I resist her maybe 5 years "The Absolutely Stunning Stephanie" and I will be reunited and it will feel so good thanks to Lindsey I so I asked her what slide she aske my favorite when I get to ride it with "The Full Effect" I love the steep slide and time number 11 was for Lindsey I and "The Full Effect" makes people nervous but I have ridden the dragon more times than anyone alive unless you can prove otherwise and I certainly would contest that.

The stair count was 1,472 but there was still time on the clock as this Monday night I had already been ditched by my Monday night companion my sister so may as well just play. I went up the abyss and then over to my favorite storm ride the cyclone and had to get it in because the story goes I follow her and is she your 2007 Rookie Female Slide attendant of the year? Well we still have to wait and see but there was Sammy and she was very happy today but a little cold. I tried to get her to push me through the little part where no water was coming down on the cyclone but she had no luck. She pushed me down 2x and then her relief came and I learned his name Markeith I think I got it and he has Harry Potter book #7 but he hasn't finished book #6 yet. I think it is great to have things that bring you pleasure. Myself I have a waterpark with a limited season of usually less than 100 days a year and maybe I get 50 or so more days out of the year. I hear some people I work with have already read the book. I saw the book at the Walmart and it looked rather thick. Due to the time this would be "The LAST RIDE" and the stair count for the day was 1,728.

The stair count goes to 66,498 for this summer. All now is set for me to be at the park for 5 days in a row for only the second time this season as continues with the first of 2 Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooosdays. Remember you can get into the park for only $9.95 after 5:00 p.m. and can stay until 9:30 p.m. There are only 4 more days all season that Deep River Waterpark will be open to the public until 9:30 p.m. so time it waits for no one and you shouldn't wait to come out to Deep River Waterpark. I'll see you there.

Day #4 of Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooooosday July 24, 2007

This was Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooosday #7 of 10 so not very many remain this summer after this we only have 3 more. It was approximately 5:08 p.m. when I arrived today. I began the day at the cyclone, and then I went over to the dragon and Mike was on his way down but this would not be the last of him that I would see. The slide attendant at the top of the dragon was Caitlin and she today could talk so that was good but the game I play with her is to try and make her say "go" and I rode the dragon curved slide 5x in a row and not once could I get her to say go. On Tuesday nights it is important to get a good base because I ended up easily distracted as the night goes on and that is ok.

Next, I went over to the storm choosing the abyss and the guy at the top looked out of place. I had seen him before but not at the top of a slide so he did explain he was a lifeguard. It seems that lately that slide attendants are in short supply. I then went over to my favorite ride of them all whitewater and timing is everything as the line was very short but once I completed my ride the line went past the stairs so up the body slide stairs I climbed and at the top was a slide attendant I had not seen in forever. It was Ashley and I asked her how band camp was because that is where I figured she was practicing the tuba. Apparently, she was not at band camp and she doesn't even play an instrument. The stair count went to 686 and then at the Lazy River I heard my name it was Lindsey I

Lindsey I had been at this stand for over an hour already. She would be the first customer on this Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Toooooooooooooooosday and already yesterday she requested cherry so I could take care of her. She could not reach far enough to grab the tootsie pop so I had to get into the water for delivery. I was then able to find Emily and had she not appeared it would have been hard as she was not wearing yellow sandal nor her uniform. She had a different to piece swim suit that looked spectacular. She had gotten it while on vacation in Minnesota. Emily likes orange tootsie pops and remember last week when she was gone that had a few orange left? Do you think Lindsey I should be your 2007 Female lifeguard of the year? In the storyline it is Jessica versus Jennifer versus Emily and Emily said I should vote for Lindsey I so shortly will put her in the competition. I have not seen Lindsey I much this year until recently and it sure has been fun for me.

I was summoned by my sister who shall remain nameless. She met Emily and we went to the West Side to find my other sister, parents, and nephews but were unsuccessful so we went on the abyss and that lifeguard was still up there and he really helped me out. We learned that his name was Patrick. He would like a green tootsie pop but those I did not have. It took awhile but I did eventually remember there is green at least one time someone handed me a green tootsie pop for donating some money to a softball group outside of the Walmart but I haven't had any green in these bags. Since I had to come back to deliver this that meant my sister would go on another slide and usually I only get her for one ride or often for none. We did return to the abyss and probably tonight only my sister was actually delivering to the guys on the staff.

Next, we would return to the West Side to deliver a tootsie Pop to Dustin as with 13 years of service I just find him no need for him to ask. Tonight Dustin was paddles roamer which walks around the paddles play area. It was a very unusual place to find him but we did nevertheless. We next proceeded up to the red bowl slide and there we would find Mike. Watching from above we could see their was trouble in the bowl slides tonight where is security? We watched two groups in a row stop in the red bowl slide get out of the tube and walk around the bowl. The first group we saw was most exciting as they placed the tube on top of the shoot walked around the bowl one guy laid down and the other played leap frog over them. The whistles blew but what was the slide attendant to do it seemed that they were so helpless but actually very entertaining to see but I don't think that is the way the ride is suppose to work.

We received "The Atomic Kick" from Mike. Apparently, there is a faster kick which I think was the Atomic Super Kick that he has never tried because it would be to dangerous and momentum may even take him down the slide. My sister told him that we were willing to take that risk. On this slide as we approached the shoot my sister fell out of the tube. We took a break for dinner and then my sister wanted to give the other bowl slide a try so we did. The line was long enough that I had some time before we went back on slides. Luckily Abby was in place at the bottom of the yellow bowl slide as she has a lot of experience and on this yellow bowl slide we got stuck so my sister got off the tube and went down the shoot. She said Abby was most surprised and asked where her tube was meanwhile I was stuck in this bowl probably for several minutes and each time I was able to move it was only about an inch as I could not manuever this double tube by myself. Eventually, I did do so and down the chute I would go but I am not used to being on a double tube by myself and was headed for a terrible fate. Abby get the backboard ready but as I was being thrown from this tube I did a flip turn into the water to avoid those jagged rocks. It was a rather rough ride.

We would try yellow again but by this time the slide attendant and lifeguard had switched and this slide attendant would not let us stand on top back by the sign that says stop. Most slide attendants let you go up to the railing so we as well as others bood him and this ride proved to be uneventful finally and my sister really wanted to go on red but it was getting dark and cooler and could I really have her for this many rides in a night? I could and up we went to red bowl slide and Mike was still there and still unwilling to give us the Atomic Super Kick but he did go with atomic and that was my sister's last ride and it was a good normal ride and the stair count went up to 1,184.

Sometimes I tell people I don't want to get wet at the waterpark I really don't mind but my sister often doesn't want to get wet so once again she had no towel so she had borrowed mind. Therefore after she left you could see me walk through the park with a wet towel on me and it was like Deja Vu that Lindsey I was headed to the same exact spot that she was at hours ago and she had already ate her tootsie pop. She doesn't work until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow so she could play "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" earlier and I would indeed get her another tootise pop and I would once again have to walk in the stairs of the lazy river. Lindsey I this time did not stay long at this stand as she was a rotater. I took a quick trip up the stairs of the enclosed body slide and down I went. The stair count went to 1,228.

Next I made my way over to the storm and by this time it was already dark. I started "The Classic" and I made my way up the vortex and then over to the abyss and Caitlin was having a much better night then last week and I asked her what would make it great but she did not know so I asked her if a tootsie pop would and so I went to get her and the other slide attendant at the cyclone tootsie pops and they said whatever. I brought Caitlin chocolate as I could not find Courtney tonight and I did look everywhere what kind of game does she have me playing? I also did not find "The Sensational Sasha" tonight so at the end of the night this bag is 15% larger than regular there were 4 chocolate left and maybe one of most other colors. I did learn Caitlin's favorite tootsie pop is rasberry so why didn't she just ask for that? We go to the judges to see if "The Classic Continued and tonight they would go with it was continuing and I got up one more slide and I could here my name.

I have not the best vision and it was dark so I tried to see so I got closer and closer to see that it was the facilities manager Joe Parker and I liked the crowd he had chosen tonight much better than any other crowd he has been with on a Tuesday night as he was with 2 very attractive females. They were alphabetical with name I like that. There was a brunnette and her name was Angie and there was a blonde and her name was Bree and I think she just maybe who I have been trying to find out about to give her the very covted Mark T's best hair in the park award but I'd probably need to see her in the daylight. According to Joe Parker they were "Maintenance Leads" I thought this was just some title Joe made up to pick them up. Apparently, they both have worked at the park for awhile. It was not there first day.

We did take a walk and tonight there were 2 blue tootsie pops and only Joe Parker can have blue although some people think purple is blue and they can then have what they think is blue. I asked Angie if she could do some gymnastics and she said she could and I said I would put on my glasses to see her do a cartwheel and she did agree too and I put on my glasses and it was certainly great to see and I even had a round of applause for her I think that was the best highlight of the night for me and there had been many on this night. If that was a ride that would have been "The LAST RIDE" as I was just overjoyed to see this so happy and I was right by my stuff. Apparently, Bree did not do any gymnastics but she played soccer and you might know I have a thing for soccer and volleyball players. Judges now that we are so flustered by the first time ever I have seen someone do a cartwheel in the park does the Classic Continue?

This night only it does so now I am on the cyclone and then the abyss and maybe I would stop "The Classic" at the vortex because the stair count would get back to a round number. It would be 1,612 but Ashley did not look very happy. I think she may have been cold has her arms were crossed and she had a stern look on her face. I asked her if she could be happier and she said she would try so "The Classic Continued" and back to the abyss and then 2 times on the cyclone and the last time I had Carl kick me down the abyss and my sister says he is mean. He didn't seem mean at all tonight. He did not have a name for his kick as apparently he isn't used to being up at the top of slides kicking people down. His kick was pretty good I mean it wouldn't rate with the super kick or the atomic kick but it was fun and he did push a few people down these storm slides. You know who was a really good pusher on the storm back in the day Brian he could swing and he took on the King of slide pushers Mr. James. I wonder if it was because they were taller they could really swing on these storm slides.

Time was running out so tonight "The LAST RIDE" would be the abyss and that would make the stair count 1,932 for the day which is very good for a Tuesday night and 68,430 for this summer. I left the park at 9:25 p.m. it was 72 degrees and so I only had 12 hours and 35 minutes to wait until the park reopens at 10 a.m. and I should be there around then to play my favorite game of them all "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" We don't want summer to end but it will and so will Deep River Waterpark's season and that will happen sooner than you think so come on out and enjoy the park which is open from 10 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily. I'll see you there.

Day #5 of Wednesday July 25, 2007

Last night I left Deep River Waterpark at 9:25 p.m. 12 hours and 34 minutes passed before I returned to play my favorite game "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" at 9:59 a.m. the temperature was 78 degrees. I began the day by taking "The HIKE" and then floated to the yellow bowl slide and then I tried red and I got stuck so I went back to yellow. This was a day that I would feel old because my recovery just isn't what it used to be. As I concluded last night with "The CLASSIC" it apparently took energy out of me today so today I would take it slow. I took "The Hike" back to the east side and I played on the storm. I started at the vortex today and it was a very scattered route I would take. I did manage to get on every storm slide at least once. I actually got vortex in 2x on this time that is unusual. The stair count went to 478 and then I went on the enclosed body slide and that put the stair count to 522.

With that I needed a rest so I took "The Hike" and around the Action River I would go and the current pulled me to the island and there was Emily who is a pro at playing "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" and I had one orange tootsie pop just for her. She might move to the bottom of paddles before I returned. Once again I had no luck getting off the island. I often went backwards as that is the way the current pulled me. I was stuck their for awhile but finally I got someone to push me out and once again I took "The HIKE" and then I found Emily at the bottom of paddles. It appeared to be raining and according to Emily this Lemonade bottle half full has been there since Monday. I want that removed by the time I return to the park on Friday. Let's get maintenance on that. There was no Paddles roamer this morning so Emily had lots of fun and she often got wet going to blow her whistle. I kept telling the slide attendant to smile and be happy. Emily decided to put on her pants and she had to do some hopping it seemed rather difficult and I showed her what she looked like by impersonating this hoppin. One time she had a shoe on so ok that is difficult but what about the time she had taken her shoe off she was still hopping around. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I did climb up the structure I used the nets bet you didn't think I could do that did you? I told the slide attendant that we need her to be smiling. She said it was difficult while she continues just to get wet. I went down the green slide as that is better of the slide. I have covered these slides a few times this year. I returned to the storm. This time I spent most of my time on the abyss I saw Alicia and I was told her last day was maybe like 2 weeks ago but apparently she no longer is playing soccer so She is back and that is pretty exciting. The slide attendant had moved from vortex to abyss he normally is a lifeguard but he broke his hand in a car accident. He really had the people under control up top and in a friendly manner so that was pretty great. Alicia said I could practice sticking the landings. I haven't had the chance to do that much this season. You could tell by the first time I tried this. However for the conclusion I probably couldn't do that again if I tried I stuck the landing and was able to stick my head up through the tube pretty cool. The stair count went to 970.

Normally, I would just finish off the stair game here as only one more slide but needed more rest so it was River to River. I started at the Lazy river and then made my way around the action river before I made my way for the victory on my favorite slide whitewater and at the top you know I follow her it was Sammy and this was the third slide I had her on today so my following was pretty good. When I had her on the vortex her hair was down. When I had her on the abyss her hair was in pig tails and when I had her on whitewater her hair was in a ponytail. I enjoyed the ride and then I saw Erin as tube stacker and I sat in the chair to watch her this was her punishment for arriving late to stack these tubes and she should get a ball and chain. I am sure some people could hook her up. A little kid came along and asked her if she was a lifeguard and she said no I am a slide attendant and the kid went away sad. Erin tried to do an impression of Borat. I have heard of the movie but I do not know who that is. She was just using her same voice and saying something that I would guess Borat would say.

I made it over to the storm and started on the cyclone. I found Courtney I looked for her last night but I figured she was not working. She said she was I still had the chocolate tootsie pops for her but she was going on break so I was to meet her at River 2 at 2:00 p.m. ok so now I would want to go slow. I went on vortex, abyss, and vortex and that did take about the 30 minutes I had to wait. I did put on the glasses and saw as she approached the stand it was 2:10. There are not many clocks in the park as why would you need to know what time it is? It is a place to have fun time should not matter. I did deliver 3 chocolate tootsie pops to her and I went around the river once. She thinks I should get a girlfriend I don't think that will be happening as I am used to being alone and the Lovely Christina taught me it is not possible for anyone to like me like that there are just some people that can't be liked and I am one of them. I am not getting any pets either. My home is 1,244 square feet I enjoy it immensely it could be 2 or 3 bedrooms. In one room I have an air hockey table with electronic scoring and then in another the computer and turtle. I come and go as I please so it is pretty nice and that is the way it will be. I do enjoy looking though. Before I knew it, it was time for Courtney to go and that should be it for me as well.

It was 3:00 p.m. and 80 degrees when I left Deep River Waterpark. Tomorrow I won't be at the park but will continue and then for only the 2nd time all summer I will appear on a Friday as I attempt to live "The Impossible Dream" when if all goes wll I will be at Deep River Waterpark 6 days in a row. This is the 2nd time this season I made it 5 days in a row that made me very happy. Friday it will be around 10 a.m. and "The Show" will go on as I have to be in Crown Point by 11:45 for my dental appointment so limited playing time but maybe I'll come back in the afternoon we will just have to see. The stair count for today 1,270 the count for the season 69,700. You may not want to hear this but there are only 35 days left in the Deep River Waterpark Season and only 30 days that the park will have all the rides open at the same time so if you haven't been to Deep River Waterpark this season or even if you have you need to get back before summer passes you by. I'll see you there.

Day #7 of Friday July 27, 2007

Yesterday my 5 day streak of being at Deep River Waterpark came to an end. Next year in 2008 maybe I can get to Deep River Waterpark every single day of but we will have to wait and see. Today, I would return to try and reach "The Impossible Dream" being at Deep River Waterpark for 6 days in a row. That has never happened this season but it is set up that way. Unfortunately, today I did not have much time to play but that is the great thing about having a season pass. I arrived at the park at 10:04 a.m. it was 76 degrees and it may have been raining. This actually reminded me of what opening day often looks like except there were a few more patrons and a lot less staff than there is on opening day.

With limited time to play I knew that "The Show" must go on and so the dragon I would go and I climbed up and down with seldom ever there being a line even a person deep. I traveled down the curved slide 10x and the stair count went to 940 and I was tempted to do "The Show" Back to Back but will save that for when the emergencies come and I need stairs fast. I went over to the storm starting at the Vortex. There was only one slide attendant at the top. Luckily not so many people on the slides today so it still looked hard but it could be worse. I rode each storm slide once and then I went to my favorite ride whitewater. I checked the clock before I started the ride. I rode it 2x it took 11 minutes as it wasn't much of a line. The weather did not look good.

I seldom get to the park on Friday and this time did not get to stay very long but at least I got there. I did climb 1,220 stairs making the count for this season 70,920. I left the park at 11:16 a.m. it was 76 degrees. I did get my hand stamped for reentry but I was not able to make it back today but I will return tomorrow when the park opens at 10 a.m. and you can do. Time in this season is running out so why don't you by coming to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course which is located just 4.5 miles east of I-65. I'll see you there.

Day #8 of Saturday July 28, 2007

Can you believe an entire week has passed since started last Saturday and so far in that time I have been at Deep River Waterpark 7 of the last 8 days. Today, I continued to try and keep "The Impossible Dream" your host Mark T. at Deep River Waterpark 6 days in a row alive. I returned to the park at 9:57 a.m. it was 76 degrees but as I stood outside the season pass the clouds burned off and it actually became very warm. I always tell you if you want to ride the bowl slides do so early. Today if you like to climb stairs the better advice would have been to avoid the bowl slides. They are slow moving slides and today at the top only one slide attendant was to be found so when you play the Limbo Replace how low can you go with how slow can you go? The lines just built up to quickly there and "The Hike" takes awhile and by the time I rode the yellow bowl slide once and took "The Hike" back the clock read 10:35 a.m.

I went to the storm where things went from bad to worse now instead of 2 slides one attendant it went to 3 slides one attendant and I would say her effore was certainly valient but I would use the best analogy I have heard lately. It was like she was fighting a forest fire and she was given a cup of water to try and put it out. I did ride the abyss once and I thought maybe I would have better luck at the dragon. At least there they have to have one slide attendant for the 2 slides. He was very tall. I lost time on this slide when we were told to move back. Then what happens is I listen and then little kids just go right in front of you and instead of being one or 2 deep you are 10 or so people back. He did at least notice this once. I did mange to ride the dragon 3x and the stair count went to 420 and I wondered why oh why did I give that bowl slide a try? It is Saturday normally I get about an hour of good stair climbing on a Saturday morning and more than half of it went on one bowl slide. I surveyed the park and found a slide that there wasn't a line at so that is where I went.

I found myself on the body slide the enclosed body slide and if you know the slide rankings for 2007 they go like this:

1. Whitewater

2. Cyclone

3. Steep Dragon Slide when I get to put in the full effect otherwise this drops down.

4. Abyss

5. Curved Dragon Slide

6. Yellow Bowl slide

7. Red Bowl Slide

8. Enclosed Body Slide

9. Vortex

10. Paddles Green Body Slide

11. Open Body slide

12. Paddles Blue Body Slide

You can see that was not in my top tier of slides but at least it was the enclosed body slide not the open body slide. I did get to have Sammy as my slide attendant see how I always follow her? Do you think she should be your 2007 Female Slide Attendant of the year? One time she did not tell me her key phrase "You may go" so I just waited until she said it and she did so I like that. I was able to ride the enclosed body slide 6x before the line formed.

I then took "The Hike" over to the action river to try to formulate a plan on how I could climb 1,000 stairs on this busy day. The thing about me is I have ridden all these slides so many times that I do not like to wait in line for them. I know I have my opportunity the first hour or so and then usually the last 2. Sometimes around noon when the waves are on the lines do clear up depending on the day. These sort of days are tough. I saw Lindsey I she said she would be at the dragon very shortly so I told her after this trip around I would go there. I went around and then the stairs to the abyss were clear so up I went and now at least one slide attendant had become 2 but it still seemed rough on them. I really wanted to comandeer the abyss just give me an application, fill it out, and give me a whistle. I have blue shorts in my bag and often am mistaken for working at the park anyway. It seemed they needed help as I heard only 5 slide attendants were in place at 10 a.m. and I am pretty sure that is what I counted as well. One on whitewater, body, dragon, storm, and bowl slides. They couldn't even pick someone off from maintenance today. This could be a dream come true for me. I have to keep remembering the only time I have ever been thrown out of the park was for helping and it is not my job to push people down slides but I doubt anyone would have stopped me at the abyss and that is a good spot for me since it is in the shade. I probably wouldn't fair well at bowl slides but at the top of the storm I could stay.

I made my way down the storm and then over to the dragon and Lindsey I still had not arrived. I went down once on the curved slide and then I got hit with the back up to the first stair and this time at least 15 kids got in front of me as I went to the stair and they just went up ahead. I did see Lindsey I get in place so I went on the steep slide and put in "The Full Effect" and the stair count went to 936 and I did not think that I would go back up into this mess because I need some time to simmer down from all these people going in front of me. It should not upset me as what is my hurry the slide will be there but I just felt it was so wrong.

Since Emily has given her vote to Lindsey I for the female lifeguard of the year do you think she should win? Her last day ever at Deep River Waterpark is Wednesday there is always the sentimental vote since she has served 4 years and has not won. There also is the storyline vote of sometimes we like to set up. She returns to defend her lifeguard of the year award. Lindsey I accused me of only giving the award to pretty people. Like I bet you know who was going to win this year. Therefore if you extrapolate this wouldn't I simply choose Jessica as I am partial to people with red hair? Lindsey I could die her hair red if that would help. I don't think that would look right. Then she said I should choose a guy that is a seperate category Male Lifeguard of the year. Unfortunately, I don't have my sister to sway the vote so I don't know many male lifeguards but I'll pick someone in the next few days maybe I'll meet someone that I have seen day after day.

I took "The Hike" with Lindsey I she takes it like 5 or 6 times per day. It is much better with company. I saw that Lemonade bottle still by paddles has been there since Monday it will take on a storyline of its own. Is it that since it is up high that maintenance can't throw it away maybe if it got knocked to the ground it would be swept up and disappear. I don't know. We made it to Action 2 and that is where we would be for the next hour. There is shade from the umbrella so it is very nice for me extends my stay. I was able to keep Lindsey I awake apparently she was tired and hungry. I think that is not a good combination. She was going to have a Subway Sandwich that she brought in. I have never eaten at a Subway apparently their slogan is "Eat Fresh" I always wonder what happen to Clay Henry he was suppose to be like Jared in Subway commercials but I guess those never took off. Once I had a Mug Rootbeer at a taco bell and that is the only time I have been in a Taco Bell.

Tuesday will be Lindsey I's last Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooosday ever but I don't think she could have all the cherry tootsie pops because those are popular. Maybe I can get her 3 though as I have procured the bag and this bag has 15% more. Lindsey I hopes to go to Peru next summer and perhaps a country called Zimbobwaee I work with numbers not countries. I don't see why anyone would want to leave "The World's Only Super Power" and the greatest Country in the World The United States of America. We are so Blessed to live in this land. Apparently, she is going to live in the jungle and have a pet lion and then probably what will happen is the line will be trained but accidentally claw her and do to the fact that she won't be near modern medicine that is available in the Greatest Country in the world she will be infected and die and that will conclude her storyline because when you leave Deep River Waterpark the storyline calls for some sort of death to happen. It is just easier that way and in 13 years I have only once seen someone that died in the storyline outside of Deep River Waterpark have seen several wedding announcements but you would think the odds would be I might see someone from Deep River Waterpark in my travels but maybe not many lifeguards or slide attendants come from the tri town area. I could not make time go fast for Lindsey I but I did keep her awake and the hour went by quickly for me.

Lindsey I went on break and the next Lifeguard to Action 2 was Courtney. She was still short. Apparently something about this spot makes people hungry. Courtney though of getting a Dora The Explorer Watch but she did not want to spend her own money on this. It was $6.50 and she said she needed a watch so she could see what time it is. I try not to wear a watch in the summer except when I am inside at my office as I don't want to get that tan line. A lady had lost a lens of her glasses in the action river that was going to be rough to find. Jennifer came along she had the upgraded radio in a protective covering. It was not pleasing to look at. She said we had to talk serious and I thought here it comes I have been at this stand for like an hour and half so how could she nicely tell me to move on. Instead she said they will for sure pain the 1 millionth stair I climb gold they just need some notice. I am hopeful that will be in 2008 since everything in my life is set up for 2008 but it will be pushing it as there are just less than 150,000 stairs to go and if all goes right this summer there should be around 112,000 stairs left to reach that goal. Tomorrow is promised to noone and who knows what traffic and weather will allow. I mean this year for a waterpark the weather has been pretty good not much rain. I have only opening day as rained out. I would have closed the park one other day but they were open then. There is no guarantee of that in 2008 and you never know but 2008 is the plan. I remember when 1 million stairs seemed like it would be impossible to climb.

Coutney's relief came and then I took "The HIKE" and there was a line for tubes and I really don't like that but I needed just one more slide to reach my 1,000 stair goal so I waited in line and up I went to the abyss for the 3rd time today and got the win with exactly 1,000 stairs climbed making 71,920 climbed this season. I had to be on my way as I would be lectoring at St. Maria Goretti in Dyer at 4:00 p.m. next Sunday I have 10:30 a.m. so I won't be at the waterpark early but I should be there later in the day but since I went to church tonight I can play around 10 a.m. when the park opens again. Usually Sunday crowd is a little later in arriving so hopefully I can take advantage of that and so can you. Plan on coming out to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.

Day #9 of Saturday July 29, 2007

Many people will never understand why I come to Deep River Waterpark so often in the summer. They say those are the same slides day after day and I probably have ridden most of the slides 100's if not over 1000 times already. They are indeed the same slides. Sometimes things happen to them especially the bowl slides and they do become different. While the slides are the same the days at Deep River Waterpark are never the same. Once that day is gone that combination of people will never ever fill the park again it would be impossible just like they say there are not 2 of the same snowflakes there are not 2 identical days at Deep River Waterpark each and every day a new group of people come and a new story is waiting to unfold.

Today I made it for day #8 out of 9 in Say Goodbye to July that is really good that would be good even if it is 8 out of 12 days. Today's story would be much different than yesterday's for I already could see that at the storm there were 3 slide attendants at top how my vision is so good with the glasses. I would therefore start the day at the storm and this was a good day to do "The Classic" as the lines could move quickly. I got all 10 slides in and the stair count was 640 and then I took "The Hike" and I noticed that it was 10:40 so this was a whole lot better than yesterday where at 10:35 I had climbed 74 stairs. I made my way to the red bowl slide. Lucy was my slide attendant the sun beat down on the stairs to this slide and made it hard to climb them. I did not get stuck so that was great.

I went up the yellow bowl slide stairs which were in the shade. I went on the yellow bowl slide 3x and at one point the bowl slides came to a stop as Lucy borrowed a gentleman's tube and went down to dislodge some people who got stuck and then every one calm down the ride resumed. I then went on the red bowl slide and Lucy said she would come and get me if I got stuck. I did not get stuck. The stair count went to 1,010 and I went around the action river. I then took "The Hike" back to the storm and I started with the abyss and now since I had been there last one side of the abyss had broken. Brian where are you. I did make a note on "The HIke" that the lemonade bottle still was there near the paddles lifeguard stand. The maintenance people came close but it must have camoflauged itself. I wonder if it will make it through "Say Goodbye to July" Earlier I watched the maintenance staff spraying at bugs at the bowl slides and with that I can sympathize. I had a wasp structure being formed on my front door like 2 years agod and in my garage I have 3 insect foggers and you spray it at them and then just run hoping you hit them and they don't get you. It is entertaining to watch as long as you don't get stung.

Lucy did come to the cyclone. She stated I must be following her but I had arrived to the storm before she did so I let her know that I was not following her and I don't follow anyone except Sammy of course. Lucy's last day ever will either be Thursday I hope not or Sunday :( at least if it is Sunday I will get to see her off. We had some good years. Very nice and friendly slide attendant she will be missed. I managed to get up the storm 6x with "The LAST RIDE" being the vortex and the stair count went to 1,394 for the day making 73,314 stairs climbed this summer. Time is running out on me to reach my 110,000 stair goal. I still have 36,686 left to climb and days there just aren't many left so will see what happens the rest of this season and tomorrow which is the pin to see if I can live "The Impossible Dream" by being at Deep River Waterpark 6 days in a row and 11 out of the 12 days of Say Good By to July. If you can't make it 6 days in a row why not try just won and why not make it today. Come on out to Deep River Waterpark to play. I'll see you there.

Day #10 of Monday July 30, 2007

July has been very good to your host Mark T as this was the 19th time this month I got to Deep River Waterpark. This day was the missing link to "The Impossible Dream" when I will try to be at Deep River Waterpark 6 days in a row. I don't believe that has happened in years and by making it to the park today at 4:05 p.m. with the temperature 85 degrees everything should be in place to have "The Impossible Dream" come true. This day was a rather unique one but when I get to the park on Monday that is just a bonus. I began the at the dragon on the curved slide. I went down it once and then it is go where they are not so I made my way to the abyss.

I saw your 2007 Male Slide Attendant of the Year: Mike up there and on the abyss I would go 4 times because that is where people weren't. On the 4th ride the slide attendant switched and their was a gal with big white sunglasses these were huge. There is no need for that. I want to rid the world of big white sunglasses one pair at a time. I believe I am on record about my dislike of big white sunglasses. I went to the dragon to get away from them. I was able to go on the curved slide 2x before what is unusual for this hour of day a line formed. Usually the dragon is the go to slide at the end of the day because no one will be found over there. I returned to the abyss and the girl with big white sunglasses was still there. Luckily, the line to the cyclone my favorite storm slide diminished so I went to that slide. I wasn't as far away as I would like from these big white sunglasses but at least they were not on the slide I would ride.

I learned the slide attendant's name because I told you I would. Remember your 2007 Male Rookie Slide Attendant of the year normally on the cyclone having fun and according to him he is "the coolest attendant on the slides" and who I am to disagree with that as I enjoyed each and every ride. His name is Travis and he is your 2007 Male Rookie Slide Attendant of the Year. The stair count went to 922 and the line grew. I saw line to whitewater was not that long so I went there and at the top was Erin. She said she was excited and I told her to use her arms and wave them in the air so she could convery excitement. She pointed out I did not do this. Usually when people ask me how I am I am overly enthusastic and usually great or good or maybe even pumped. I was able to ride whitewater 3x in a row and I put in "The Effect" every slide has an effect but I can't tell you what they are now can I but they come out more as the season approaches its end.

The stair count went to 1,054 and once agin I won the 1,000 stair game. It was requested that I go down body so why not with the win under my belt. I saw Emily and I don't think we met since last Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooooosday. Normally, Emily does not work on Monday but she was working this one and already picked up next Monday as well. I was so excited to be at the park on a Monday and I think this is like 3 Mondays in a row. It is like winning a contest. Of course I do have to wake up at 4 a.m. to accomplish this and today I thought I might run out of energy but when I got to the park I had a burst from nowhere.

Emily did explain the white sunglasses were not hers. She had forgotten hers at home probably because she doesn't normally work on Monday and these may have been from the lost and found as no one wanted them and rightly so but at least they were not as big as that slide attendants. I did see Bree from maintenance stacking some tubes at the tube shack by whitewater how about that I actually remembered somone that is pretty good for me. Each time I rode the body slide I took a tube or two with me. Well 2x anyway people you should return the tubes to where you got them. By time number 3 it was time for Emily to leave she was replaced by your 2007 Female Rookie Lifeguard of the Year Abby who everyone wants to see at Yellow bowl slide on Tuesday night but she was not going to be working tomorrow. I took a walk with Emily she noticed that I wore the yellow shorts a lot lately. Why not things are good it will be 11 out of 12 days July has been very good to me. They do match Emily's sandals. I wouldn't mind having a pair like that because they are very nice. Do you feel a best sandal award coming on soon? We took "The Hike" it was 5:40 so I did not think I had time for another slide. Plus I just got things back to even. The stair count was 1,186 making 74,500 climbed this season.

I did check and see that by the paddles guard station on the like pillar the lemonade bottle remained still tipped on it's side. It has now survived an entire week from one Monday to another one. How long will it survive. Will it be there for Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooosday? It just might be but maybe maintenance might finally see it just look up at this elusive creature and it's storyline may finally come to an end or will I have to open up the bottle and give it a tootsie pop since it has been at the park so much? We will see how this story unfolds and many more as there are only 3 nights left all year that Deep River Waterpark is open to the public until 9:30 p.m. and tomorrow is one of those come after 5 and get in for 9.95 or come and play all day and you will get 3.5 hours for free. It is suppose to be hot so you may as well cool off at one of the coolest places in town Deep River Waterpark. I'll see you there.

Day #11 of Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooosday #7 of 10 July 31, 2007

It seems to me that just started but this actually was day #11 and only the extra day that goes into August remains. I have been able to be at Deep River Waterpark 10 of those 11 days and for the third time this season I made it 5 days in a row so tomorrow when I play my favorite game of them all "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" "The Impossible Dream" should come true. I arrived a little later than I would like it was 5:42 and 88 degrees and there was a very large crowd on hand. You probably know that after tonight there are only 2 late nights open to the public all year. I began the day at the cyclone which is my favorite storm slide and because that line looked to be the fastest moving in all the park. Surprsingly, the dragon kept a line for most of the night. The slide attendant was Erin and I reminded her to show excitement by waving her hands all in the air. She did so and added something called "spirit fingers" so that was good.

It took some time but I did manage to make it up just the cyclone 8x in a row. Erin wanted to know if it was true that I gave out Tootsie Pops. On Tuesdays that is indeed true and even on Wednesdays I give out the leftover ones. I have done so nearly every single Tubin Tooooooooooooooooooooooosday in the parks history. There was one year that I think that I did not as tried to end Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Tooooooooooooooooooooosday but I heard about that and it always amazes me how this tootsie pop makes people happy but I see such joy and happiness when people get them and I like to make people happy. One year for about 3 maybe 4 weeks back in the early days there was a tin since most spots were in the water and the tootsie pops would get wet not like action river with the sidewalk behind it. The tin has tootsie pops on it and then you could just pick out of the tin. The problem with that was it was to bulky to carry around but I still have it.

Erin thinks I should get a stair master for the off season and perhaps live in a castle with servants. I could not believe she would suggest I have servants as I can do most things myself. Actually if you want to know my weakness I manage people and it is very difficult to let go of what I do because I love to do things myself and not give up any control. I do though have someone cut my lawn. Erin has apparently thought about having servants and she would have 12 and this would be in a castle and she could sit on a thrown and have them bring her ice cream. I never got to what the gender of these servants would be but it is most intriguing that she has thought this all out. It was not easy to get on the cyclone 8x in a row but it happened and the stair count went to 512.

Usually on Tuesday night at this point in the story my sister would find me and off I would go. Tonight the timing seemed off and the lines they were long so I went and took "The Hike" I saw Emily at Action 4 and that is where she would be all night long. I did report to her that for day #8 in a row this lemonade bottle remained by the Paddles lifeguard stand and now it made a friend a cup has joined it up there. I think they may be dating and a wedding may be in the future for them. I can't believe there is a storyline about garbage and now more garbage but it seems no one will remove it because it is not on the ground. Wearing my glasses I was able to spot my parents who were looking for my sisters. I joined in this hunt we found one sister and one nephew Matthew T he is 4 and he was so proud that he could go down the slides in the original kiddie land all by himself so we had to come see and he did go down the slide 2x and made sure that Uncle Mark was proud of him for doing this. One day will there be someone to take Mark T's place and climb those stairs?

Eventually, all members of the family were in place and there was dinner. They are sad that there are only 2 more Tubin Tuesdays left because then we won't see each other on Tuesday nights anymore but you need to enjoy the present or as I say always look at what you have and never at what you have lost. This event came to its conclusion. I took "The HIke" back to the old part of the park and could see the lines had not gotten any shorter so may as well wait in them it would be humilating to go down in defeat on a Tuesday night. I went back to the cyclone. Erin was still there and apparently had not been on any other slides at all tonight. I did bring her a tootsie pop and it made her night. She did leave shortly afterwards. I did have her on the cyclone 11x in a row. She was replaced by Suzy and then I went on the abyss because it had returned to form with the shortest line. Travis had made it up there. He has given his one week notice as it seems the sport season has started he will be missed after all he is your 2007 Male Rookie Slide Attendant of the year. He had not had a tootsie pop since who knows when.

I made it up the storm 6x this time and then I went on the dragon to make sure I won the 1,000 stair game. I rode the curved slide of dragon 2x making the stair count 1,084 so victory was again mine. I did survey the lines and chose to go up to the top of body and there once again was Erin and I rode down the enclosed body slide stair count to 1,132 and then I made my way to The West Side. There I encountered Jennifer and I thought maybe she did not know it was Tuesday as I never see her on Tuesday night but apparently she did know and she was there so she could get a Tootsie Pop on Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop Tubin Toooooooooosday. She could have any color except for blue because those are for Joe Parker even though I did not see him tonight maybe tomorrow but if not then there will be the dilemma as no blue Tootsie Pops have ever made it to the office. I wonder how this would play out. Jennifer would walk with me around the action river. I told her if she needed to stop just let me know.

She did not need to stop and we went all around the river ending up at Action 4 where Emily probably thought I forgot about her but I had not. I needed to make sure I had climbed 1,000 stairs before I came over and since I had at Action 4 is where I would stay as the night and the month went away. Emily fished tubes out of action river but she missed several. I did not boo her though but chided her for missing some. There were some good ones that she hooked as well. The rides closed and I departed the park at 9:32 p.m. and it was 77 degrees. That means only 12 hours and 28 minutes should pass before Deep River Waterpark Reopens at 10 a.m. The stair count for the season goes to 75,632. In August for the next 19 days Deep River Waterpark will operate with everything open but after that for 5 days the park will be open but not all the rides and attractions at the same time. Summer it is nearly gone so you should take that into account and get to Deep River Waterpark right now. I'll see you there.

The 12th and Final Day of Wednesday August 1, 2007 Day

12 hours and 28 minutes passed before I was able to return to Deep River Waterpark to reach the 2007 "Impossible Dream" being at Deep River Waterpark 6 days in a row and 11 out of the last 12 days. There was no better way to reach this dream than to play my favorite game "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" I arrived at Deep River Waterpark at 10 a.m. it was already 85 degrees. It was going to be a hot day and I would try to get everyone that worked at the park to mention that it was hot. When it is hot I recommend that you rent a tube so you can go freely where you wish without having to wait in line for tubes just go to the Tube shack located southeast of the wave pool and they will take care of you. I did not take this advice but I knew the time for stair climbing would be limited so I started off with "The Show" if your remember last week when I returned on Wednesday I felt old becaus "The Show" was unavailable sometimes this summer I knew that I could not do "The Show" where I climb up the stairs of the dragon at least 8x in a row but normlly it is 10x. There are 94 stairs so that is usually 940 stairs.

I could not stop at 10 because I wanted to get 1000 stairs on just the dragon so I continued on and then I felt good so I did not stop and it was what will probably have to be broken out more as we reach the conclusion of the 2007 season The Back to Back "The Show" as I climbed up the stairs of the dragon 22x in a row only going on the curved slide and the stair count went very quickly in just over an hour or so to 2,068. I took "The Hike" I checked near the Paddles guard chair and for day #10 in a row the Lemonade bottle was there and now joined by its friend the cup which is on day #2 in that same spot. I went around the action river it proved difficult to get a tube but eventually I did and around I went and I found Emily at a different spot on the action river near red bowl slide and that is an Exit only so I could get out there. I got her to mention it was hot. I saw Jennifer who had a pink ribbon in her hair and a sideways ponytail and she said this is Wacky Wednesday. The key to events is consistency and participation. I do like alliteration so I would be in favor of Wacky Wednesay although just seeing her by herself it was a hard concept to grasp.

Jennifer walked with me to her imaginary line that she could not cross on the West Side because she had the radio so "The Hike" wasn't so bad and I sold out of orange Tootsie Pops by giving Emily one who is an expert at "Let's Pretend The Day Didn't End" I can't believe I only get to play 2 more times this year where has summer gone. Emily suggested that I come to the park tomorrow unfortunately I have to work some time and today August 1, 2007 marks that I might only have 366 days since 2008 is a leap year left with the company I currently work for a lot can change in a year but on August 1, 2008 something will happen if I had a crystal ball I couldn't tell you what as my feelings change day by day but hopefully for 2008 "The Impossible Dream" will be to be at Deep River Waterpark 12 days in a row for every single day of "Say Goodbye to July" now that will be something but this year no Thursdays will I reach the park and last year I couldn't get there one Thursday either.

There was much confusion about cards. Justin was blamed by numerous guards. I tried to defend him but that didn't really go over well. Eventually, things did get sorted out and people got to different places but Jennnifer never got to catching that guy that was spitting gum on the bowl slides please do not spit gum on any slides ok? I did get everyone to mention that it was hot I had all 3 of your 2007 Female Lifeguard of the year original contestants in one spot but guess who I didn't see Lindsey I and this was to be her last day. The last time I ever saw her Carl said to her "We need to talk" and I told her she might be in trouble for letting me talk to her and she said if she gets yelled at she would just quit so maybe she did and it could have all been because of Mark T so since I didn't get to say goodbye and I end with this storyline she has to be your 2007 Female Lifeguard of the Year congrats Lindsey I.

I got in the river. I found Courtney I did not see her last night but she admitted to leaving around 6 p..m. I did see her water bottle because it was near Emily. Courtney is willing to take all the chocolate Tootsie Pops and that is a good thing so I can move them. I of course got stuck near the island but finally Courtney pulled me out of this area. I did pretty good not to go backwards and I did try to attache myself to some other tubes but was unsuccessful. Now I am left with just blue tootsie pops which are for Joe Parker so I think those will be saved for next week. You know sometimes you can not find blue in the bags so that will be a good safety net. Actually last week after I think his name was Patrick wanted a green tootsie pop which apparently do exisit as green apple my sister and I went and looked through numerous bags but could not find a single one that had both green and blue tootsie pops and I told her I have to get the bag with the blue because that is what Joe Parker wants so maybe I'll have green next week. We'll see.

There was a long line for tubes but I waited in it and it was hot. I got to top of cyclone and I learned this slide attendants name was Josh and the girls on the slides Sammy and Erin had the pink bows in their hair and I think ponytails to the side and Erin came an put perhaps a barrette in Josh's hair can you believe this I guess that is Wacky Wednesday for you. It was fun to see but it didn't look like it was painfree when she put it in. That was going to be "The Last Ride" but you know I follow Sammy is how the story goes so I made "The Last Ride" the abyss and the stair count went to 2,196 for the day making 77,828 for the season and I was hoping to be at 80,000 at this point in the season so just a little bit behind. Can I reach the 110,000 stair goal. That will have to see. I estimate I have between 10 to 14 days left in 2007 and 32172 stairs to climb that might be tough but I bet we will see the seldom seen "The Show" back to back to back some of those days. It also depends on the weather. I hope I can make it but this year I don't mind if I don't because while some people may feel guilty they keep me from stair climbing I have had a whole lot of fun this season and sometims its just because of the people and the storyline that goes with them.

I did find Courtney taking "The HIke" I got ahead of her and was sitting on the bench in the shade where ice skating happens in the winter. She got ahead of me but did open the door for me and now she wasn't going to River 4 but instead to bottom of whitewater and I walked with her and tried to get her to jump over the bushes into the lazy river but she did not do so. I gave her the chocolate tootsie pops and then it was time for me to go. I wish I could just stay all day but I don't have the skin for that and as I got everyone to mention it was hot. In fact normally on Wednesday I have my lunch in my breezeway but it was to hot for that so I came inside my air conditioned home and ate. I left the park at 1:26 p.m. it was 95 degrees. I should return on Saturday if all goes well. Deep River Waterpark has 18 more days in a row that it will operate with all rides open at once and it is going to be hot so why not come out to Indiana's Premiere Waterpark located just 4.5 miles East of I-65 Deep River Waterpark of course. I'll see you there.
