IMA membership for students is an exceptional value at $39.00 per year. Back in 1993 (then they didn't have events like the one below) when I was a student at Purdue University, Calumet I joined the IMA and it certainly has proven to be one of the best investments of my lifetime.

If you are a student or other member who simply wants to join the IMA please consider joining our chapter to get the networking advantage. On your application make sure to choose Calumet (Hammond)

During my entire time with the chapter we have done no fundraising activities we simply try to sell as many ads as possible in our limited collector’s editions of the roster books. For the upcoming 2008-2009 The Calumet Chapter is pleased to announce all 3 covers: back outside, inside and front inside have been SOLD OUT. The ad sizes can be modified from just about any size; the final ad sizes appear in the book as 3 1/2"(w) by 8"(h) or smaller, depending on content and layout of the ad. Ad presales have started and go through May 31, 2008 there are some bonuses for 2008-2009.

Approximately 100 of these books are published each year and they are used and kept by members for many years to come. For the 2008-2009, with the commitment to purchase a full page ad the chapter is throwing in for FREE a link on our website to the sponsor’s website as well as a link in the e-mail that goes out each month informing members of upcoming meetings (If they have no website we will list the name and address or telephone number on the website and in the e-mail blast). Any sponsors that commit to the purchase a half page ad by May 31, 2008 will receive for FREE a link in our e-mail blasts promotion the October 21, 2008 Student Night and Member Appreciation Night I at J. J. Kelley’s in Lansing Illinois and the March 24, 2009 Student Night and Member Appreciation Night II at Zuni’s in Crown Point IN. There has been some interest expressed about sponsoring The Calumet Chapter’s Upcoming Student Nights and Member Appreciation Nights. The Calumet Chapter would welcome sponsorship of these events and if we have commitments by July 17 will list that the night is sponsored by _____________.

The prices for ads in the 2008-2009 Roster Book are as follows:

Full page ad $150.00

Half page ad $100.00

Business card ad $75.00

Sponsorship Listing (this is a listing in the roster book with no ad) $25.00

Ad sales for 2008-2009 roster books have already begun and we want to have all sales finalized by July 31, 2008. I have spoken to many of you on the phone and you wish you could attend meetings or help but can’t make the time commitment. Here is a chance if you can contact someone you know or just send/give us a name and phone number. If a customized letter will help I will be more than happy to write one. The 2008-2009 GOAL IS TO SELL $1,500 worth of advertising in the roster book. This is a very aggressive goal but it can be achieved with your help. The Chapter DOES accept prepayments for advertisements, checks should be made to IMA-Calumet Chapter, but that is not required once the roster books are printed an invoice will be sent out and Due upon receipt. If a company would simply like to make a donation there will be a page that indicates “We Thank the following sponsors for helping defray the cost of the 2008-2009 roster. For more information please feel free to contact myself in2deep@xvi.net or 630.530.6707 or Warren Cebulko who has done a stupendous job on these roster books for the last several years wcebulko@yahoo.com

Certifications

Certified Management Accountant (CMA) On March 24, 1997 I became Mark T. Camarena, CMA. My certificate number is 18752. The CMA program requires the candidate to pass a rigourous four-part examination and meet specific educational and professional standards. The program was established to recognize professional competence in the field of management accounting

Certified in Financial Management (CFM) This is a new designation. It will confirm your proficiency in financial management and your dedication to personal and professional growth. As the body of the CFM examination is complementary with that of the CMA examination, three of the examination parts (Parts 1, 3, and 4) will be the same for both programs. Part 2 of the CFM examination will be devoted to in-depth testing of corporate financial management topics.
