gave each other nick names for Fungus Amongus 1996. They named Alex, Dirk. For some unknown reason Alex kept the name Dirk, maybe for a laugh but that is pretty drastic.
Dirk Lance plays the the bass in Incubus. He met Jose, Mike and Brandon during school. They soon formed incubus in 1991, when they began playing shows at local parties.
Dirk was born on the 18th of August 1976 he began playing Bass when he was about 13. Dirk was never really taught by anyone how to play the bass, it was more like finger picking to the point, where he taught
himself, that is where his true talent sticks out. This was said by Dirk to be "some of his best schooling."
