ABOUT THE BAND

Indaba is a progressive rock/jazz fusion band based in Brisbane, Australia.
The band is all-instrumental and plays an all original repertoire.
Clyde and Brad, who met while playing in an Elvis tribute band, formed Indaba in 1998.
Realizing they shared common interests in music genre and styles, they quit
the Elvis show and began writing and dreaming up the ultimate band.
In late 1998, Scott joined the crew when he answered to
an advertisement placed by the guys.

Indaba is a self-contained unit; the band has no manager, no sponsorship, and no agent.
Because of such a line-up, recording became an occasional occurrence.
In fact, the typical Indaba schedule was to write and rehearse for a month,
save up required funds, book a recording studio for a day,
and start the process all over again.

Intermingled into such a sporadic schedule was several live performances
at many of the venues in Brisbane, catering for fusion material.
So far Indaba has been featured on local Brisbane television,
Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide jazz radio stations,
and College radio stations in Nova Scotia and Rio de Janeiro amongst others.

We have found that in live performances, not only do the fusion fans
accept our material enthusiastically, but mainstream rock
and heavy rock fans also receive it as well.

Indaba’s plans for the future are clear and positive.
The main two priorities are to get more live regular work,
and to sell the CD.

Indaba would love to perform throughout Australia and (of course) to play overseas.
The ultimate would be a North American tour!
