I strained trying to think of one reason why this game isn't perfect, and I finally came up with one: Poor cutscene direction. But that, my friend, is it. Everything from the eye-popping visuals to the brilliant and expansive gameplay has been tweaked to perfection. The graphics are loaded with color. The underground mines, the science labs, etc. all have their own specific palette of colors. The sound effects are rich, and the music is uplifting and fun to listen to. Also, the framerate is constant, so it isn't migraine inducing, even though the framerate's only at 30 fps anyway. The controls can be revamped to your liking, so the gameplay is perfect. You can drive a jeep, fly a spacecraft, operate an underwater vehicle, and even use that one mining vehicle from Total Recall. But the most essential part of the gameplay is the Geo-Mod technology, in which you can quite literally blow through walls. It comes in handy when you don't have a key to a door. You can also make sniper ridges and tunnels in multiplayer and do a co-op with a friend if you want. Speaking of multiplayer, I can honestly say that it has become one of my most vibrant gaming experiences ever. It's just so much damn fun, even if you don't have vehicles. Okay, I'm going to stop gushing over this game, but really, come on. The game is worth it. Especially since it's only $20 now. As Evan said the other day, "I feel like I'm ripping THQ off!" Buy it now, even if you don't like FPS games.

Like Chris, I was thinking of what score I should give this game. I was playing the game and I realized, what's wrong with this game, then the answer came to me, nothing major. This game has stunning graphics for the time it was made and now, and great gameplay. The music is also excellent, it seems like the developers placed the best songs in the perfect places and levels. The graphics are very will done, the game has really good textures and good looking weapons. Also, the game might not run at 60 fps, but it usually maintains a constant framerate, which is a must for an FPS game. Then there is geo-mod technology, Red Faction won our most innovative game award because of this one feature. Geo-mod allows you to destroy walls in real-time, which comes in handy when there is a door in which you don't have the key. You can also build tunnels and a multitude of other things with this revolutionary technology. Then there is multiplayer. I have one thing to say about the multiplayer in Red Faction, it is quite literally...One of the best of its time. Yep, that's right, the multiplayer is simply stunning. Some of the levels have secret areas in which you access using the geo-mod technology, there are many weapons in which you can obliterate your opponents, and it is very fun. If you don't feel like killing your partner, then do co-op, team up with him and go destroy some bots. What if you are by yourself, then you can play against the bots. Here is my advice if you don't have this game, BUY IT. It is a greatest hits title and can be purchased for a measily $20. It is definitely worth it. So, after saying all of that are you wondering what my score is? Well here it is, my score for Red Faction...
