TWISTED METAL BLACK |
Unbelievable! |
I will be totally honest with you...I hated Twisted Metal 3 and 4. I hated them with a passion. Especially the third one. Those pathetic controls, those disgusting graphics and sounds, those cheesy weapons...but most importantly: That repetitive, loud, migraine-causing Rob Zombie "music." Ughh. Just thinking about Twisted Metal 3 makes me want to vomit. I'm glad to report that this time around, in Twisted Metal Black, the original creators (the guys responsible for Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2) have come back. They have successfully resurrected the series and have given it a huge graphical facelift. This game looks and plays beautifully. The perfect controls and graphics, along with exceptional music and sound effects, have taken over the game and do a great job of guiding the game in the right direction. The game is, without a single doubt, the most interactive game ever made. The levels are huge, and virtually every single thing in the game can be destroyed. From houses, to bridges and cars, you can destroy it all. Shoot a ferris wheel to watch it roll through the city, destroying trees, houses, and everything in sight. Or send a gas can flying toward a chemical building spherical in shape, to watch it roll into a building, knocking it over, revealing "goodies" inside the rubble. Or shoot the big screen at a movie theater to watch it knock over, the projection against the clouds instead of the big screen. You can even shoot out windows and drive through some buildings. Helicopters and airliners can be blown up too. There is so much you can do in Twisted Metal Black that I can't list everything on this page! It's fantastic! A must-own title! It is going to be online soon! Can you just imagine car combat online? I can't wait. I'm trying to think of some complaints about this game, and I have come up with one: It's too freaking difficult! I had to beat it with cheat codes! I couldn't get off the first level. This is not acceptable by any means. Sometimes the game is a little creepy at times as well. But look at those graphics! And that framerate! It's spectacular to see sparks fly off another car after using a homing missile on it. The game was meant to be amongst the best of 2001, and it stands there proud. Thanks, Incog Inc. We can't wait for the next masterpiece. |
