I was not a big fan of the MoH games when they were on the PSX. To me, they were not that fun, and had bad graphics. A few years later, I can honestly say that this game is funner than the series has ever been, and the graphics are absolutely awesome, especially the wood textures. Crates and barrels are detailed to the very last grain, and you can see small pebbles inside of the cement. Now if that's not detail, then I don't know what is. The only problem with the graphics is that the trees in the game are branchless (isn't that a bit odd?). Regardless, the graphics are the best I've seen in any PC game.

You may have notciced the score I've given the game. It's knocked down just a very little bit. I gave it this score because of those stupid, stupid sniper levels in Brittany, France. In these incredibly stupid levels, you have to protect people, drive around in a tank that can't seem to take any damage or it blows up, and the AI is so damn poor in this game that the stupid allies can't run through an empty alley without getting shot to death out of nowhere. I haven't beat too many of these levels in this area yet, and I doubt I ever will. They're just too complicated, and any time something is too hard, I never play it again. I don't want this to happen. Cheat codes don't work half the time either, which is really a big flaw that they should fix in the next game.

But you can't ignore the best level in this game, the Omaha Beach landing. It's just so dramatic and awesome, even though the framerate drops a bit. Ughh. It's so great, however, to be on the beach while your friend dies suddenly next to you. It's also almost impossible to beat without cheat codes, so get those ready. The major drawback to the Omaha landing is huge--there's
no blood! What is up with that? I know, the reason they did this is to keep the game T-rated, but if you shoot people in the head, or the groin, isn't that enough to get an M-rating? I'm sorry, but Omaha Beach just isn't that great without blood, especially if you've seen the movie Saving Private Ryan. Without blood, some of the game loses its momentum.

I know I have a lot of complaints, but they're mostly small (with the exception of the Brittany levels and the fact there's no blood) and you probably won't care. This game is one of the best games of all time, and it gets my vote so far for 2002 PC game of the year. But why stop there? Why not give this game what it deserves? Let's just give this game best PC game ever, because it deserves it. It could even be the best game of 2002 on all systems, it's that great. Don't think I don't like this game, because you couldn't be farther from the truth. The truth is, MOHAA is so good that I had to buy it. Now, I rarely buy a PC game, and I hadn't even played it before I bought it. Now that says something.

The sound effects are outstanding, and the voice acting is literally perfect. I couldn't believe how realistic each gun sounded. The old guns from WWII sounded dead-on accurate in terms of sounds and graphics. The atmospheric effects such as weather, wind through trees, etc. sounds perfect as well. Having an excellently composed soundtrack doesn't hurt this category either. I gave the sounds a 10 because they're basically the best sounds I've heard in a PC game, and that's saying a lot.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is worth the purchase. However, there is one thing you should be concerned with: My friend has this game, and it frequently crashes his computer. I have this game, and it crashes my computer. It freezes up during the loading of the beginning of each Load file, New Game, etc., and you must hit CTRL-ALT-DEL to fix the problem by shutting down the Network Connections. There, I told you what to do if you have the problem, which you most likely will
