Curriculum

After careful evaluation of the curricula, IISJ has decided to opt for CBSE and ICSE curriculum as the most appropriate curriculum for our school. This curriculum aims at devising student friendly and student focused learning and teaching paradigms. The educational programs are constantly being improved and extra-curricular and co-curricular activities compliments the academic courses. The syllabus is skill and knowledge oriented and not just content and memory based. We are planning to acquire CBSE affiliation at later stages, when middle school will start.

"Learning is nothing but realization which happens through self enquiry, experiencing and exploration."

Salient features of the CBSE and ICSE curriculum:

  • To provide knowledge and develop logical thinking and scientific aptitude
  • To facilitate creativity and excellence.
  • To appreciate, nurture and inculcate aesthetic sense.
  • To strengthen value-based approach to life.
  • To meet emerging global challenges.

We offer an opportunity for learning in an international atmosphere at a young age, which foster the inquisitiveness and problem solving capacity of the children. Equal emphasis is given on Individual development while promoting social interaction and cooperation.

Montessori Education for Kindergarten

IISJ has also decided to implement Montessori Method of education for kindergarten as it is a revolutionary method of observing and following the interests of children. It continually adapts to the environment from which children learn by experimentation and research.
Children are not separated by ages, but they experience "three-hour work periods" each day. They are allowed to focus and make progress on work/play of their own choice. Concentration on purposeful activity, involving the mind and body working together is a key element in Montessori method.

    Features of Montessori education:

  • Children enjoy respected choice and uninterrupted concentration.
  • They learn from what they are studying individually, but also from the amazing variety of work that is going on around them.
  • The child is scientifically observed, observations recorded and studied by the teacher.
  • All subjects are interwoven and a child studies them in any order he chooses.
  • All intelligences and styles of learning-musical, bodily-kinesthetic, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, intuitive, natural, and the traditional linguistic and logical-mathematical-are nurtured and respected.
