Indian Poets Writing In Manipuri

Thangjam Ibopishak Singh (b. 1948) — Thangjam Ibopishak Singh  has published six volumes of poetry. He has received the Manipur State Kala Akademi Award in 1986, the Jamini Sunder Guha Gold Medal in 1989, the first Jananeta Irabot award in 1997 and the Ashangbam Minaketan Memorial award in 2005. Ibopishak also received the Sahitya Akademi Award (1997) for his book Bhut Amasung Maikhum (Poetry). He teaches Manipuri at the G. P. Women’s College in Imphal.

Yumlembam Ibomcha Singh (b. 1949) — Yumlemban Ibomcha Singh  has published several literary works. He was honoured by the Manipur State Kala Akademi with its award in 1974. He received the Sahitya Akademi award (1991) for his Numitti Asum Thengjillakali (Short stories).

Saratchand Thiyam (b. 1961) — Saratchand Thiyam is an engineer by profession. His books of poems include Tengalikaarba Podon (1980), Chho Chaboon (1989) and Africa (1993).
