Now just a little about us and our site.
We are parents helping parents. For many of us we can not afford an attorney to aid us in our pursuit of custody of our children. Therefore we must do it without and Attorney..So we look to other parents that have been through the same situation for advice and help on our own cases. For example I can not find the correct paperwork needed to file a Modification for Custody. I would look to another parent that may know of where to get the correct document or maybe even have an extra copy that I can print off. Each custody case is unique, But as for the correct forms they all remain the same for the most part. I find it much easier in typing out my own paperwork and presenting that to the court.. I have written my own words and maybe the judge could see my motivation in obtaining my child(ren). In most Pro Se custody cases you can not go to the court house for documents needed to file, in most cases the court clerk or anyone in the courts will tell you that since you are acting as your own attorney then you must be the one to do the research for the correct documents needed, Hence Pro Se Parents. We can hopefully aid in that research for you because as Parents going Pro Se we have been there for the most part. |
