My wife is from Indonesia. Her name is Niken and we first met on Okinawa. She has graduated from UI (Universitas Indonesia) in Feb.1999. Her Japanese is excellent, so we communicate in Japanese. Take a look at our picture.

My university (University of Vienna).where I graduated in Japanese studies and Anthropology.

I studied one year in the University of the Ryukyus on Okinawa/Japan as a Monbusho scholarship student (1997/98).

We married in July 2002. The Wedding ceremony was held in Javanese style. After that we moved to Japan, where I am currently working in the village office of the famous ski and hot spa resort Nozawa Onsen/Nagano.

My hobbies are listening to music, recently I like R&B and HipHop, but I'm also into Japanese and Asian Pops. Check out the weekly Top100 countdown (with audio samples).

And I also like Salsa...it's a great rhythm for dancing...Vamos escuchar aqui muchachos!

I can speak German, Japanese, English and I try to catch up some Indonesian. My Bahasa Indonesia is not very advanced, so I still need my dictionary.

My religion is Islam. I created a page called "Magic Carpet Ride" for Muslims, but also for interested Non-Muslims. Here you can learn many things related to Islam, the Muslim world, listen to Al-Qur'an recitations and to Azan (Call to prayer) from Mecca...and much much more...So, let's take a ride!!!

I got a close relation to Okinawa, I studied and lived there for 1 year, and I met sooo many diff'rent people. I had the greatest time o' my life there. This page is specially dedicated to ALL my friends I met during my stay on Okinawa. I really hope we can meet again someday somewhere...'til then...let's remember our good ol' days on the island!!!
